Would be proper funny if Martinez was offered the job, but then said he'd prefer to stay at Wigan

Well Liverpool folk always said he was one of them irrespective that he came from north of the border.
Now he is unemployed so he should be even more in with them.

The Guardian are suggesting he doesnt want to be interviewed, just offered the job due to his performances.

Quite right, too.

Same with Rodgers. If they actually offered Rodgers the job, I've no doubt he'd take it. What they are asking is that he piss off his employers, fans and players simply by agreeing to an interview. I'd decline that too.

I wonder if Swansea will show him the same loyalty, should they sucuumb to 'second season syndrome', and are hovering around the bottom of the Premiership come next March?

I think he almost definitely would. He has said about 53952 times now that it would take something MASSIVE for him to leave Brighton.

He couldn't even say no outright to a Leeds job I don't think he was even offered without making a song and dance about how it was the wrong time and how wonderful they were or some such. I don't think it will take anything TOO massive if it's offered, but that's just my opinion I accept.

He was being nice about a club he used to be at. Big whoop. Why wouldn't he be?
