...

I am going to make the Christmas pud this weekend though
Yeah, we've made the pudding and the cake and the first batch of mince pies (already half gone). Plus obviously we've put the sprouts on to boil so that they'll be ready on the actual Day.

I put "not started." I don't plan to start. Buying presents is a foolish tradition that really only truly helps those that sell merchandise. I buy things that I need. I never buy things that I don't need because someone declares I need to buy presents for my family.

Buying a present for someone that YOU need would be a bit strange though, wouldn't it?

I was forced to go for the second option, because I have STARTED. However Bozza 's poll is a NONSENSE. Whilst I've 'started' I really wanted a '1-10%' option, not this 50% unrealistic madness.

On Monday I'd bought one gift, but with the requested 'wants' lists from nearest and dearest, and 40 mins on Amazon and another couple of sites, I've made major headway!

I do like the olden way of going into a shop (if it's not busy, in which case it's a living nightmare), but the cold truth is that it's simpler and cheaper online.

Got some, will have to wait for some to arrive and finish the last ones by the end of November if I can. The shops are a nightmare in December.

I got my first Christmas card yesterday.

Still loads to do in December with wrapping, sending cards, food shopping and decorations to go up.:xmas:

I was going to go for 25% increments but couldn't be ARSED.

Earlier on in the year, there was a deal on PS4. £179 quid, additional controller and a couple of games. What an excellent present for my lads I thought and congratulated myself on a job well done.

Here we are months later where they both want a Nintendo DS each. PS4 is off the menu despite my numerous attempts at a Jedi mind trick and I know full well the DS will be gathering dust in a corner in 6 months time.

Moral of the story : Don't start too early otherwise it goes on ebay *

* or offers welcome.

Not started but it's not even December yet and I have a penis! Maybe women get it all done early but I might change my mind before the middle of next month on what getting.

You sound like a bundle of fun

I actually truly am. Needlessly buying presents for family and friends due to some obligation created by merchants that just want your money is not a bundle of fun.

Jesus was not a person that gave presents. He didn't give gold, frankincense and myrrh as gifts at Passover or Hanukkah. He gave of himself and supposedly gave up his life to save all his followers from sin and death. If you truly want to follow Jesus at Christmas you can give of yourself and be willing to sacrifice your life for your family and friends.

Jesus is a myth. I don't buy into that nonsense. Christmas is a family celebration, nothing more
