Let's be honest. In the bad old days when our football was no better than Sunday pub league, one or three before a match was a must. It was like anesthetic.

This very similar to the laws regarding serving drunks in pubs. A normal man goes into a pub has a few, meets a friend has a few more when is the time when the landlord must decide you have had enough and says I am not serving you. Now put yourself in the drinkers position I am ok I have spent a fortune in your pub and now you are saying you wont serve me, Is that not the recipe for trouble?

I am a great believer in that laws or rules shoukld only be brought in if they can be rigidly enforced and there are no grey areas of possible dispute.

I am sorry to offend you BG, but I can't really believe your sons got hauled up unless a) they were quite drunk and acting so or b) they did something to draw attention to themselves. Maybe at some stage I will end up on the wrong end of a complete miscarriage and will change my mind, but it hasn't happened yet.

That was my view but having spoken to the officer from Sussex Police it would appear that they were unlucky, However there have been many times when they and many more could have been nicked so perhaps it is rough justice. Dont ask me why they are having the day off as we have had many words on it being pointless.

Gonna say. Anyone who gets drunk enough that they forget parts of our first ever game at the new stadium is a moron. Same as people you see at festivals who have spent £200 odd overall on being there, and get so drunk they can't remember half of it.

I remember going to Halifax Town at the beginning of the season in 2004/05 and doing three E's not long before we left the pub nearby. Having had hardly anything to eat that day, by the time we reached the turnstiles I'd started to 'rush' and could hardly f***ing stand up, that wanting to be hospitalized five-minute spell. I don't think there were any stewards outside as it was a non-league match at the time against Barnet. I wouldn't have been allowed in. From being 2-0 down, Barnet came back to win 3-2 and remember going extremely mental on a very hot afternoon and hugging everyone!

I can envisage quite a few people turning up for the first game at the AMEX conspicuously pissed on August 6th, and being refused entry to the stadium. Not a happy situation for anyone to be in after a 14 year wait, but you just know its going to happen...

Strewth, I was worried for a while, as I had it in my bonce we were kicking off at The Amex on Sunday 7th. August
