Which is which?

The parody is more intelligible and less excitable, but if you're not going to use the ignore feature to differentiate them then:

Parody = Pretty Plnk Fairy
Prototypical = Pretty pink fairy

Johnson might be able to prove if there is immunity from catching Covid-19 twice..... he probably won't mind either way, either he's a hero for beating the virus or... it's another 3 weeks off work... win/win for Johnson !

Bloody Worthing!
This shambolic government (of whose record the PM is 'proud') stumbles on, cock up after cock up with plunging levels of public confidence/trust desperately thrashing around for some shreds of good news and still yet unable to locate any.

Tragic, funny and disgraceful in equal measure.

Interview with Mathew Parris, he's got the measure of Johnson. Essentially lazy, doesn't do detail and is essentially scared of parliament

stuns me that anyone thought he was doing a 'superb' job at any point of this

I know NSC tends to be centre left generally, but even by the metropolitan educated liberal latte supping elite of Brighton and Hove 87.5% very poor / poor is pretty damning

Interesting points there, building on the fact that Johnson is not a natural born leader or a grafter. I think Max Hastings was more succinct about Johnson's traits, we were warned, the charge sheet is long and covers many diverse incidents and actions, little of this was not in the public domain, we all knew at least a few pieces of the jigsaw, we should have seen this coming. It's just damned unfortunate for us all ( including Johnson ) that his coronation has arrived just before mankind's greatest threat for centuries.

He's not yet reached the depths of Cameron. If he succeeds in enacting Cameron's folly (Brexit) then he'll be right up there with Neville Chamberlain.

Incidentally, were Chamberlain's cheerleaders (the Daily Mail and its readers) still backing the man with the piece of paper in his hand after Hitler had invaded Poland? I am pretty sure the usual cretins will still be backing Boris and Brexit even if we end up with a hard border and mass unemployment. Four very keen followers filling out the present poll. Same four as last time? Can't be arsed to check, fankly :shrug:.

To a degree. Churchill was reviled in the Conservative Party at the time. At the height of the Dunkirk evacuation there was a section of the party formed around Lord Halifax who was trying to push the Government into dropping out of the war by asking Hitler for peace. Something that also tends to be overlooked is the willingness of Labour to work with Churchill in a coalition when they refused point blank to do so with Chamberlain. Labour had had close contacts with their German equivalent SDP between the wars and knew very well what their fate may be, thus they did not trust Chamberlain whom they believed may sell out but did Churchill who they knew would continue the fight.

Alongside your intense interest in music, is it WW2 or party political history that floats your boat? I'm not quite sure which one from this although, of course, it might be both.

I don't get why Sharma went to a meeting with Boris and Rishi when he is clearly ill. If any of us turned up at work like that, nobody would go within a mile of us and send us straight home, surely?

Are they just all thick and don't listen to a word they tell us?

By a long way, the best article I’ve read on the Tory’s response to Covid. Responses such as ignoring offers of PPE and ventilators from universities and research centres and instead give contracts to their friends in private industry who couldn’t deliver.

Anyone who defends the Tory’s after reading this is frankly, brain dead.
