This has been easily the best option for me all along.
Although would be a huge signing given who’s interested allegedly.

Can’t believe (Yet again) people are writing off one player because of the league he plays in (there are hundreds of players in that league and all are different humans with different abilities) - the guy looks class and is a French international of sorts / Soon will be) 11 goals in 6 games for France u21s. 40 in 60 apps for Celtic - yes a shit league but still knows where the goal is - Best striker since Larsson for many of their fans etc etc
Have to agree Bayern Munich have a habit of this, although I’m disappointed Barber didn’t tap up Davis before he went to Bayern he’s now a very fine player coming from the Canada leagues.

In a squad of 25 there’s a lot to be said for having a 4th choice striker who knows he won’t play much and is happy with that and will do a good job when called upon. Sign two strikers and you’re effectively relegating Connelly to that role, which is less good.
Irrelevant anyway, we’ll struggle to sign one in my opinion!

I don't think Glenn is the man to be our impact sub any more. He is so slow that it trips the team up if we're chasing the game. I love Glenn and thank him for everything he has done for us, but would love to see a more mobile player available, even if just on the bench most games. (I know, this was a statement of the bleeding obvious).

Start him against West Ham in both games and they'll crap themselves.

In all seriousness though, I can see Glenn being very useful against teams who set themselves deep if we command a bit more respect this campaign. It's another option!

We extended his contract with this in mind I guess. But I'm being greedy and would love the equivalent of a 26 year old GM if we could get one!

Largely agree with the opinion that signing anyone from the SPL presents a risk, but with Edouard there are a few other details that stack up in his favour, that probably suggest it's not as much of a risk as some are suggesting.

- 12 goals in 30 European games for Celtic, plus 6 assists
- 11 goals in 6 games for France U21's - I expect that'll match up to anyones record at that age group. France probably aren't short of attacking prospects so to get into the squad alone shows he has talent
- Better goals and assists ratio compared to Moussa Dembele who has gone on to Lyon and been successful

I know it won't be this simple but Duffy (10mil) + 15mil cash seems sensible? Particularly as Celtic are out the Champs League. Could even add Gyökeres on loan as an extra sweetener. If only it were that easy!

I’d add that Celtic fans rate him very highly (better than Dembele). And they overall seem less deluded (than some other fans I could mention)

Have to admit I don't watch scottish football aside from the old firm.. Looking at this clip he clearly has strengths, nuisance in the air, can take a direct freekick, decent finisher.. However, the defending in that league is so bad.

Two footed
Can score with his head
Happy to shoot first time
Even scored with his stomach
The only thing he hasn’t scored with is his penis, which Murray will always have over him)

What’s not to like

Watching that I'm reminded a bit of a young Bobby Zamora. Shit defending and goalkeepers included.

These aren't the players you're looking for.

Those goals he scored in Europe were hardly against tricky opponents. Apart from one goal versus RB Leipzig he looks a bit of a flat track bully.

Reykjavik 1
Alashkert 1
Rosenberg 2
Salzburg 1
Leipzig 1
Sarajevo 1
Cluj 2
Solna 1
Copenhagen 2

ok so celtic are out of CL but at least they qualify each year. Are we so certain he would want to join a team that for the last 3 years has been stuck in the bottom 6 most of the season, and, as much as we hope otherwise, it will be a good few years yet before we are Europe ready ? If he's like Dunk and doesnt demand a 1/2 million a week like some infalted egos in the PL then he may be happy to stay at celtic?

Not just about the Champions League.

Would you rather play in the SPL or The Premier League?
He can come to a team on the up, Fantastic infrastructure and set up, manager who plays attacking football. Building an exciting team looking up.

Prove himself with us and he could get a move to a top 4 club.

Or stay in the SPL and bang in a few goals against Kilmarnock and Ross County.

I imagine that’s the sell.

Get your point, but Rosenberg, Salzburg, Cluj and Copenhagen (just gave Utd a good game) are hardly easy teams. Plus plenty of good sides have fallen against smaller teams in Europe. The saying that there are no easy games in Europe has some merit.

Also, could just as easily argue that he suffers his teams own limitations when coming up against better sides, rather than him failing personally. I don't know enough about him or Celtic to make a judgement either way, but given all the interest in him and the confirmed interest from us, I'm going glass half full.

I'd be very happy with either Nunez or Edouard...both would be incredible, but I really can't see us buying two strikers unless the intention is that Connolly or Murray go on loan or something.

4 strikers isn’t unreasonable 4 very young ones might not be ideal, Murray is clearly done and will be less than a bit part unless we have terrible luck with injuries which is why we should have 4 in the first place. I’d like edouard or Nunez plus one around 28-31 that’s played in the prem preferably to bring on the younger ones

An EPL-experienced striker to bring on the younger players seems to me the exact definition of Murray

I know it’s a bit of a contradiction but four youngens I don’t think would be good some experience playing at the top level with a good while still to go seems a good way to go to me

Lennon has had a bit of a strop following their elimination from CL and has said any player can leave. I wonder if £20-25m would be better utilised rebuilding the squad then keeping hold of a goalscorer, Celtic are likely to win the league again even without him

That's why you tell he is the man to take us up the table.
