May be overly optimistic but I hope a new approach could bring out the best of last seasons signings. Could be like 3 new players Andone, Locadia and Ali J. Plus there is still time to get a new striker and midfielder and maybe a right back.
I really think Bloom has gambled so I think it’s going to pretty much be all or nothing; 10th or 20th. I am about 50/50 on this at present but will obviously swing one way or the other once I see Potter’s team in action.
I’m pretty sure, judging from the sounds from the club, that recruitment nearly complete. Had we have kept Chris, I think we’d have needed to sink £50m+ on half a dozen new players, but we’d probably have needed a clear out of the recruitment team to ensure that we were purchasing 4-4-2 specialists and not players used to more progressive systems like Locadia & Ali J. I’m confident Chris would have got us to 15th at worse with the right players. Potter will have to stick with what we’ve got.

Hopeful but not necessarily confident. It's such a tough league and I worry if we start badly (especially with a relatively kind first few matches) then confidence in the manager will go downhill quickly and it's tough to reclaim that lost ground. Almost regardless of results, we have to stick with Potter and give him time.

Yes, VAR will undoubtedly take away that initial feeling of goal scoring joy as your first thought will be of some little man in an office in the middle of Hertfordshire eagerly scouring the action for a reason to disappoint.

How the hell can you be confident we will get relegated when, at most, you've seen a few running drills on Seagulls TV? Hughton in charge and based on last season I'd share your confidence.

Let’s see how you feel after going mental at a goal only to have it scrubbed off. I think us oldies will all be quick learners on this after celebrating a few goals that aren’t.
The least confidant I have felt since arriving in the promised land. i fear a free-fall that will break the minimum points gained record.
Hopefully, my dread is just a fear of the unknown as we dont know what a Potter team will look like, but i have found that low expectation is good for the blood pressure.

I’m optimistic.
Good points above about a first team lacking PL quality in several key positions, but there’s a month of transfer window to come and every other club also have much transfer business to do. We need a striker, ACM and RB, and possibly a proven box to box midfielder.
It’s going to be exciting, with many ups and downs, hopefully far more ups than our dire 2018/19.

I'm hopeful that 2 of the 3 promoted clubs won't be good enough to stay up. Newcastle are in deep trouble and Burnley could be caught out if they don't recruit. I am confident we have enough ( at the moment) to finish lower mid-table with things as they stand and hopeful of more attacking intent away from home. The dealings in the rest of the transfer window could change my thoughts though.

You could have had mine on the cheap, I don’t think I’m going to need them this season. I am totally accepting of whatever happens as I was 100% behind a change. Can’t have it both ways
Sadly I think you're right at the moment .... Although looking forward to seeing the Belgium kid.
I just cannot see any way that we can play more attacking football without getting punished in the premier league. We just don't have anywhere near the attacking talent of teams like Bournemouth, palace or watford.
Only saving grace I can see at the moment is that Norwich and sheff utd have far weaker squads than Us. If we can rely on another team to implode (maybe Newcastle or villa) then we may have a chance of being 4th worst team.
