How can BHAFC help bring Falmer Stadium to the villagers?

Early days to pitch this - but what ideas could help bring the Stadium structure to the community, in a way that is more appealing to the locals?

Perhaps, say, a surrounding garden, with a design chosen by local residents.

Statues or art sculptures, including entries by local artists.

A hall within the structure, than may be used by the local community, at times when not clashing with other events or fixtures.

Yes yes, I know that many residents have been against the Falmer Stadium project, but to some extent this was always going to happen wherever it was planned for, and ultimately the locals are valued Brighton residents who should be catered for.
They will be the new neighbours - not necessary to kow-tow to every whim, but at least to accomodate to the project in some way or form.

How about if they sell their houses to Albion fans at vastly reduced prices?

The villagers won't be the nearest neighbours.

Thanks for your telling contribution.

How about one that better addresses the subject? :dunce:

Thanks for the sarcasm. I would have thought the uni usage was far more important than the villagers wishes.
It has already been mooted that the learning centre will be used by the uni. Catering courses, and other such things.

The bastards can start by accepting defeat before we start offering them olive branches. I'm not a vindictive person but I would struggle to want to even be civil to them and have no inclination to make them feel better about us being there. f*** 'em is my rather sad but heartfelt sentiment

This is what I was referring to.

The University of Brighton, whose Falmer campus will border the new stadium, said: "We welcome the fact that after a long and protracted process a decision has been made."

City College Brighton and Hove also welcomed the news.

College classrooms and other facilities for 550 students a year will occupy the stadium's East Stand.

It hopes to be able to invest in the learning facilities at the stadium as part of a proposed £80 million revamp of its own buildings.

Deputy principal John Evans said: "The East Stand of the Falmer Stadium will provide a unique learning environment which will be very appealing to all students.

"It's ideally located close to the universities and Falmer High School and we can build on the success of the Albion in the Community and City College Study Support programme."

Courses at the stadium will include catering, hospitality, media and journalism.

Well I'm thinking of moving there, Seaford wont be the same when it's downwind of the incinerator.

This is exactly the question that faced the Albion when we moved into Withdean.

A lot of hostility had been whipped up and there were threats of legal challenges. When everying was settled, a Liaison Group was set up to meet regularly with representatives of the local community to iron out any problems. That Group still meets and local people have the right to attend and raise any issues they want. Interestingly, no-one apart from the 'official' members of the Group now bothers to come along.

I imagine that the Club will be offering the same facility to the Falmer villagers.

As for the specific question - what ideas could help bring the Stadium structure to the community, in a way that is more appealing to the locals? - the best way would be for the Club to ask the villagers themselves to come up with some ideas.

This is a benefit that I've been underlining on NSC ever since 'Falmer Stadium' was put forward as a venue.
It can be of great benefit to the University, in sports medicine, physiology, and human biology studies.

I'm glad the club have been reading my posts!

I thought Falmer fell under Lewes district?

Dunno, would Albion fans want to live in a village that has an ugly highway running right through it,

Oh puuurleaase, don't go all American on us. It's a dual-carriage way, not a highway.
