I spoke a little bit with a family of 3 in the North after the game.

They'd come over for 3 days and made sure to watch the game. Kitted out in club shop merch and gave me a Japan headband because I was wearing my Mitoma Japan shirt.

Must say I much prefer the Japanese fans on social media Vs the Iranians and South Africans we used to get.

There's one knobhead who comments in Japanese on every insta post saying Mitoma will leave in the Summer, and he's almost always shot down by others who say they love Brighton (also in Japanese)
They're a wonderful fanbase and a great addition

The dull part of the south coast

I saw you at Brighton station after the game waiting for the 6.30 Southampton train wearing your ‘gear’. Very impressive!

When I got off the train at Southampton on Saturday night there were a couple of Japanese girls on the platform. As I passed them I said “Mitoma!” with a thumbs up sign. They looked at me as if I was a complete idiot - they were right!
You probably look nothing like him 🤷‍♂️

The knobhead is probably an Arse fan using Google translate

Lmao, I was rather drunk by that point but was just enjoying the evening after another wonderful Mitoma display.

I’m still yet to see a Brighton replica shirt worn by a local here. That’ll be the benchmark for having truly made a mark.

As just mentioned in the mods WhatsApp group, visitors to NSC from Japan this week were up 571% on this time last year.

I doubt they were all trying to keep up with Caicedo-gate.
Sorry if it messes with your stats, but out of respect for Mitoma I've set my VPN to Japan

Or ‘Turning Japanese’

Although the in this context the subject matter of that may not be quite right.
Forgot that one, and I don’t see why not. Ultimate compliment and probably at a speed befitting our love of warp factor chanting!

I went to Tokyo in November and wore my Brighton shirt one day. Within 10 minutes I'd been stopped by a couple of Japanese guys as they recognised the shirt. When I asked them about Mitoma they said that they preferred Trossard :ROFLMAO:
