Ok maybe a bit over the top since Abramovich came in however Chelsea were not a big club in the 80s 90s.

Realistically, consistent top 6 requires a stadium with at least 50k capacity. Its's not the money, but the kudos and recognition that the larger clubs have that is impossible to generate with 30k capacity. And, of course, to have the fan base that will fill it regularly. We all hate plastics on here but they generate the fan base required to fill huge stadiums.
So realistically it is lower half of top half with serious cup runs. To do that will probably require: TB to stick with it; CH to cut it; a bit of luck; some promising youngsters coming through.

It was a huge achievement getting to the Premier League but and even bigger one staying there and becoming a regular.
Now we are going to be walking the tightrope of success meaning that we will lose our best players and manager(s) and us continually having to rebuild. This, as Swansea have proven is bloody hard to do season after season. Southampton have managed it recently with an excellent academy bringing players through. But it only takes one poor managerial appointment and a bit of bad luck and they are back down again.
Lets face it unless we are in the very top group we are always going to be looking over our shoulder.
Having said that, as long as we respect this status quo and don't over reach to stay in the Premier League we can stay above the middle of the Championship for the foreseeable future. Which is nice

Finish 19th next season followed by 5 years flirting with the playoffs back in the Championship
Just thought I'd put a pessimistic slant on it
You may feel that is pessimistic but the reality is this is probably by law of averages where we are, anything else would be hoping for too much on the up side or further regression on the down side, we've had a brilliant journey since 2010 when even the Hypia interlude wasn't all bad, i'd travel this road again happily but hope the club is able to repay Tony Bloom at least some of his generosity in the meanwhile.
Burnley fans now having a chuckle at our expense.

How many posts on this thread have actually been a little overly excitable? 1 in 20?... set amongst grounded opinions and sarcasm. Yet they title the thread 'Brighton fans'. Also love how they are not quite sure whether we believe we can be as big as Real Madrid
The buzz of promotion is the best time to scope out some overly exuberant and brazen comments that they can copy and paste on their forums and have a good chuckle. The BBS must be lapping it up. Thankfully I don't give a ****.

Money in the PL makes stadium size and attendece less relevant.
Spurs and Everton are regular top 6 sides and have smallish grounds.

No. But the current WHL is small and Spurs have been in the top 6 for numerous years.
Imagine having to live in Burnley though!
Why the obsession with the size of a club? No one can agree with a formula to work out who is the biggest anyway, I think one of the papers tried a year or two ago and people on here were outraged because x were deemed bigger.
Most would probably agree that Moan U, Barca and Real are the biggest clubs in the world and I imagine that most on here despise these clubs and would support anyone (within reason) rather than these three.
Or, to keep it short, who cares?

Hardly surprising, some of the crap spouted in this board recently is laughable. At least one person on there had the sense not to judge us all by a few over exuberant posts.
