I would like to hear a statement from SC before then...

why should he even be there if he is going to leave - frankly I'd rather he wasn't!

If he's staying then...

You gotta really because the man is a legend and he has contacts for some of the players we have got over the past season or two.

LETS GIVE HIM A BIG

:clap2: :clap2: :clap2: :clap2: :clap2: :clap2: :clap2: :clap2: :clap2:
AND JUST PRAYS THAT HE STAYS!

THE MAN IS A LEGEND!!

Do you really think it will make any difference. Are we the easy lay of the football league, you know, the one that everyone who has just been dumped goes to for a shag before someone more attractive turns up.

I say we should close our legs NOW and get someone to show real commitment before we take our clothes off again.

Interesting analogy - but I agree with the sentiment.

Without a firm public commitment to stay - I will not be excited to see him on Saturday.

Hmm.... getting laid by the likes of Coppell versus a steady date with the likes of Hinshelwood :p

I'm sorry, I don't agree, the guy IS NOT a legend. He has done nothing, he didn't save us from going down, he hasn't taken us back up again, he hasn't completed a thing. At least Taylor made it to the end of the season. He brought in a few players but we lost one of the best ones to his mate Pardew, who also nicked Steve Brown before we could get him. He made it pretty clear he wanted to sell Zamora and he got new contracts for two of his old players, one after getting a long term injury.

He is a good manager who has decided to leave before any real work was done. I am sorry to see him go but no way is he a legend.

And he could have been (or hopefully will be) the best we'd had.

After reading that Coppell praised our away support at Rushden I think we should show him how good we can be at home!!

If he's in charge on saturday but walking out on monday then I'm sorry no applause from me. I maybe over egging it a bit, but coppell is treating us like cack over this.

Don't get me wrong, I think SC has done a good job, but it is nowhere near finished, and his jumping ship has really disappointed me.

Coppell has a record which will read one year at Brighton one relegation end of story.

He stays gets us promoted and then keeps up against all odds, he's a legend but as it stands all that happened when we were under his control was we were relegated. thats what the hostory books will say if he leaves now.

That said I will cheer him as much as I can on saturday to make him know we still want him, if he chooses to go then I will hate him and treat him with contempt forever. HE will get no heroes welcome when he returns to withdean I will boo him for all he's worht, but until he leaves......

torn about Saturday, I want to persuade him to stay, but I can't help the feeling that if he's going to go, he should piss off now and stop wasting our time.

I'm with Tinx, he's straight back in to the Palace Reject category if he quits.

His comments during his radio interview were less than inspiring and very non-commital either way.

As somebody said elsewhere-we just have to wait until one of the two chairmen decides to let the supporters know just what the fcuk is going on.

To be fair though, Steve Coppell has never sounded inspiring about anything! That's just his nature.

Do you think Steve is trying to call Dicks bluff. I.e he wants to stay but knows that with the current playing budget if we go up we'll probably lanquish at the foot of Div 1.

Out of the £1m net we got from Bobbys sale only £200k went into the playing budget, and £100k of that's gone already on Leon.

How embarrasing must it be for Steve to phone clubs day in day out for loan players. Probably gets the same reply as cold callers on our phones!!

Dick this lies solely at your feet and you should have seen this coming, rather than closing the gate after the horse has bolted!!! Falmer is important but not in Div 3:(

no more embarrassing than 95% of the other clubs in the league.

Most of the Premiership clubs have players on loan this season, it's certainly not just us.

If he really is going, he will have decided by Saturday.

If he chooses Reading I can't believe that he will be there at Withdean. He hasn't finished the job yet - so it's not like we need a chance to show our appreciation.

If he stays though - my god, let's raise the roof in the North stand and lift the leaves off the trees in the South!
