An IT consultant who for more than two years used forged rail tickets on his daily commute into London was today given a suspended sentence and ordered to pay back the fares.

Karen Boswell, customer services director at First Capital Connect, paid tribute to the company's staff. "The audacity of this fraud beggars belief and it is a tribute to our quick-witted staff that this thief was caught out," she said.

Quick-witted staff. :lolol: Quality stuff. The only time FCC staff are "quick witted" is when they are on a massively overcrowded, late commuter train, and watch a passenger enter first class illegally to escape the suffocation. Only then are they normally "quick witted" enough to wander straight in, and fine the poor sod after sitting in the area for about 15 seconds.

f*** me..they should pay the customers for getting on their shitty trains...not the other way round.

Personally I think this IT consultant -who probably charges about a grand a day for his services- can't be all that if one of the train guards spotted the forgery.

Incidentally..how can thay prove he has been jibbing for 2 years unless he has admitted it?

That story was in the Argus about a month ago.

Suspect either admission or the fact there was a wad of other forged tickets under the one he was caught travelling with ?

"Fare-dodgers like Moore are robbing the rail industry of £400m a year, money that could otherwise be invested in better services for the vast majority of law-abiding passengers who do pay for their rail ticket."

Ahem, or share dividends to already rich shareholders methinks.

Sounds like two years of sitting nervously on a train wondering when your number would be up. Not the most relaxing way to spend fifteen odd hours every week! Pretty crap forger if he didn't even bother getting the right type of card and colour match.
