Evening NSC,

Random one - someone I know who is a keen Crazy Golfer was told that there used to be an 'Arnold Palmer' style course on Hove Seafront during the late 60's or early 70's and he asked me if I knew about it or anyone that might remember it.

It's before my time and its the first time I've heard of there having been a course in Hove. I'm guessing there wasn't?

Arnold Palmer style courses are all the same (well, 18 of about 20 hole designs), and were popular in the 60's. Our nearest one is in Hastings

Used to be a crazy golf course by the King Alfred but I guess this pre-dates that one.

I think I remember that ! There was also one a bit furter along towards Brighton but that was an "ordinary" crazy golf" one - might still be there (certainly was about 15 years ago)
There was also a pitch and putt up at Rottingdean

on a snowman plough
not exactly crazy golf but a pitch and putt course used (and might still be-not been down for a while) to be on the brighton side of the lagoon,it covered two of the walled lawn sections alongside the prom so stretched from the lagoon to about the sea front cafe.(not the one that the mono legged woman has turned into a veggie burger outlet -the one nearer the king alfred)

google earth still shows that it is still there

There was crazy golf - can't remember where, but near the lagoon I think?

There was definitely a crazy golf not far from the pitch-and-putt (which is still there). It was 18 holes, including a windmill one with the sails going round, and there was a bonus 19th hole where you had to putt up a steep slope and try to get your ball in a hole at the top. If you did, you won a free round.
I played it several times with my parents in the mid-70s, not sure if it survived much past that though.
