My thoughts;

1. How come everyone else can post their 'thoughts' on the existing Fulham match thread, but hb&b needs his own?

2. Is it because he is 'special'?

:D

My comments on your thoughts ...

1. The other Fulham match thread was all about the game as it is progressing so therefore of no real interest once the game is over. A "thoughts and observations" thread after the game is a much better place to look for and post post-match comments.

2. Probably not.

Thank you.

I think we do need a new keeper for all the usual reasons that are pointed out about Kuipers.

Lynch looked quality, never looked in any trouble and showed class on the ball. Slight bit of over confidence is his only problem. His positional play is exceptional though, seems to have learnt a lot from Butters as he doesn't rush about but is always in the right place at the right time. You could see he was about a year on from Elphick who will hopefully learn from Guy how to be more efficent with his movement.

Rents looked good considering he was up against their liveliest player in Rosenior. Tracked him well and even pushed him back a few times with the quality of his distribution. Nice to see a left back hitting a diagonal ball when under the cosh to at least give us a chance of retaining possession rather than smashing it down the line usually into touch.

Hammond was anonymous, I really believe he is a good Lge 1 player, no more. El-Abd tried hard and will be a decent back up for that position. However I though Fraser looked very good, charged around well and will learn to time his tackles better. He also bought drive and movement to the midfield. By the time this season is out I would like to see him and Reid cemented in the centre.

Cox looked very tidy (pleasent surprise as I wasn't sure he would against Prem opposition) and Jake seems to have upped his game, clearly been in the gym and showed he had at least developed one testicle. Sexy bouffant as well.

Forster showed what we had been missing up front, a player who times his runs and plays off the shoulder of the defence. Revell is a good, hardworking foil for him. Both chased everything down as well.

Was a very positive performance.

Tommy played like a man possessed when he came on. Needs to balance that enthusiasm with a wiser sense of discretion at times.

Generally, I was impressed with the defending - each man played well individually and as a unit, (especially Lynch) although Rents was left a bit exposed against their right winger in the second half.

Hammond and El-Abd were a bit anonymous. Cox was a bit nervous and hesitant, but was generally OK. Robinson appeared to have taken on board the criticism of getting stuck in. Revell and Forster are still going to need a few games to gel properly, but the signs were promising.

Elder was off the pace, Bas was his usual comedy genius.

My Albion MoM - Joel Lynch, never put a foot wrong.

I believe Hammond is easily good enough for the championship.

I've seen enough of Lynch to say he will be the next big pay day for the club.

My old man made a good point, he reckons Oatway probably had a word with him and said you need to go for it. It will be a case of sticking with him and giving him a chance to adapt to this level with regard to his judgement. I believe he will get there as he is a quality player.

He can be. On last night's performance he wasn't.

I've thought Lynch was not going to be ready for the big step up - at least not yet. However, after last night's game, he is getting closer and closer to it being hard work for the Albion to keep hold of him.

I sat next to a couple of lads who were not Albion fans. They asked who the Albion No.6 was, they'd never seen him play before - they were extremely impressed with his performance, and were surprised to learn how young he is, bearing in mind the quality of his play.

I didn't rate Fraser last season so i hope he has improved. We need a younger version of Oatway and Fraser hopefully can fill his boots for years to come.Someone who really puts the boot in as we have no other at the club.El-Abd i don't think is good enough.Use to think he was but i'm slowly changing my mind about him

My thoughts;

1. How come everyone else can post their 'thoughts' on the existing Fulham match thread, but hb&b needs his own?

2. Is it because he is 'special'?

:D

It MUST be a sort-of 'in joke' that hb&b has, mostly with himself. It couldn't possibly be that he is so head-mental and narcissistic as to think his word is more interesting than others. No way can anyone be THAT blind to reality.

Still, this in-joke thing still isn't interesting, captivating, or (most tellingly) shared by anyone else. No doubt hb&b blames everyone else for not 'getting it', or being as sharp as a tack, as him.

So, in conclusion; hb&b is, in actual fact, completely mental.

Its because I can afford to live in Brighton and Hove Duffer old boy, and therefore can post a thread soon after the event.

Kuipers for me was dissapointing, although made a quality save, but Fulhams second was ugly goalkeeping.

El-Abd just looked shite.

Everyone around me thought Elder was Savage.

Forster does indeed look like a quality striker, and i can see him getting at least 15 this season.

If Joel Lynch carries on playing like that, i doubt we'll keep him all season

All in all, i thought it was a great game for a friendly, and we showed we were more than capable at times against a prem side.

The future looks bright. :ascarf:
