Barrel of Fun

Abort, retry, fail
Was Wilkins at one of the other friendlies tonight watching a Championship team? ???

Stoke City, Leicester or Crystal Palace ???

I thought Whing was one of the better players tonight and Jakey certainly looked hungry for the ball. Nice to see Fraser in his rightful position.

How many rugby tackles did El-Abd make tonight? Was it Joe?

1) watching Big Brother
2) yes
3) distance and first glance (it helped when Bas had blue hair or hair at all)
4) he looked alot stronger tonight so probably
5) he looked alright , Rents looked poor i thought and Forster overall was more mute then he had been in previous pre-seasons
6)more experience was all it took with him ,remember these lads hadn't played against proper oppo before last season and you need that
7)see 5

1. According to the website Wilkins has injured himself and is on crutches so maybe he was in the main stand. I noticed White and Chapman on the mobile phone a lot during the match.

2. Yes

3. It's quite easy

4. Maybe he's realised that he can't get away with a season like last year and needs to adapt himself into another role to stay with the club

5. He looked fine to me.

6. Fraser is good in central midfield but hardly ever plays there.

7. Yes he good.

What is a bock?

1 - Wilkins in North Stand
2 - Goalkeeping coach, no idea
3 - People are racialists :jester:
4 - Must have been, won TWO headers
5 - He looked knackered after 20 minutes
6 - Looked like a man possesed and crunched their midfielders loads of times
7 - Different gravy, that shot near the end when he flicked it up and volleyed it just wide was quality

8 - el abd got brushed by the ear and stood up
9 - why did fulham fans in south stand think it was a good idea to smugle in bottles of vodka?

10 - the brighton players must have been shocked at withdean after being cheered, clapped off the pitch after being subbed

My observations:
Kuipers made a couple of very good saves, but did look a bit vulnerable a couple of times.
Whing was pretty good, but messed up a great chance to put one of the strikers through in the second half. Passed the ball directly to a Fulham player when it was easier to find his team-mate.
Central defence was excellent.
Have some doubts about Rents based on last night's performance. Beaten to every high ball and did not look confident.
Jake had an excellent game. He is playing well this season and looks to have got his confidence back.
Hammond was off the pace and looked a bit anonymous. Worrying?
Cox, good in parts.
ElAbd reasonable game.
Strikers. Forster is good. Played well with Revell. Elder did not look as good when he came on, but was playing with Bas and those two are too similar to play together. Elder and Forster works. Question is whether Forster should be teamed with Revell or Elder?
Fraser is def a better player in central midfield than on the right.

Overall, not a bad display against premiership opposition. Bodes fairly well for the season.

Agree with all of that excpet El-Abd was very poor indeed... if Charlie is fit, then play him...

Also, Rents is better than Mayo, even when he is not on form...

My thoughts;

1. How come everyone else can post their 'thoughts' on the existing Fulham match thread, but hb&b needs his own?

2. Is it because he is 'special'?

:D

I agree with goldstone's comments with the extra bit by BW for Oatway. Rents did have a good game. Hammond did disappear.

I did confuse Elder and Bas a couple times :blush:
