I have an hotmail account, just wondered if this has happened to anyone else today. At 5am this morning all of my contacts were emailed from my account. I know this was not me!!!!!!!! Has anyone one else experienced this sort of thing before??????? Any advice would be appreciated.:annoyed:

Do a virus and spyware scan on your computer and change your password to make it more secure, add some numbers and symbols to it.

My other half's account was blocked after apparently sending spam emails. When she went onto the MSN forum to report the problem there were literally thousands of other people with the same problem.

Rather than being anything to do with passwords or infected PCs, I think it's a problem at Microsoft's end.

Happened to me not long ago. Personal e-mails sent to all in contacts list recommending they buy jewellery or handbags or whatnot from a web site I supposedly was pushing. Arseholes.
Took advice and told to simply change my hotmail password.
Heard recently about a scam where your account is hacked into and an e-mail is sent to all your contacts that reads like a personal plea from you. It explains that you are trapped at some airport, with no money and with details of how to send money to get you home. Bastards.

Yep, a couple of months back, everyone in my contacts list (even people I'd emailed years ago and hadn't knowingly stored) got emails from my account encouraging me to buy stuff from some shitty and badly written website.

I changed my password and haven't had any problems since

Seems hotmail is very easy to hack (guess the password for) every couple of weeks I get a email from someone on hotmail and you can see it has been sent to all of their address book
