Just a heads up.

If you're planning to stay in Liverpool before of after the match, book a hotel early. It's always a nightmare getting a hotel room when Liverpool are playing at home due to all the foreigners that come for the match.

There are plenty to choose from, at various prices.

Budget hotels - Formula One, Campinaile, Days Inn etc or for those feeling flush, Marmaison, Crowne Plaza or Radison.

But don't forget, book early!

Yep, try the Worsley Marriott on the Liverpool side of Manchester if you want somewhere nice. Loads of Premiership teams tend to stay here before games.

How would i know?I'm pissed.
Last year we stayed at one of the Premier Inns, nice and cheap and couldn't fault it to be honest.

Campanile is good - down by the dock fairly central. I think there is a travel lodge opposite lime st. (or may be premier).

I'd recommend the Campanile, Dolby or Formula 1 if Yiu want cheap. The Jury's Inn on Kings Dock is usually good value, but a little more expensive. There's a nice brand new Premier Inn, but im not sure if tgat ones open yet. If You want posh theres the Marriott, Crown Plaza, Hilton or Radisson. For the guy who suggested the Moat House it was knocked down a few years ago! No need to stay outside Liverpool. It's much nicer in the centre after the rebuilding over the past few years. See you all for a drink in the Baltic Fleet pub - my local, which is a stones throw friom most of the hotels and brews it's own beer. I've no chance of getting a ticket, so you're buying!

Just far enough away from LDC
At times like this there is an advantage to booking a hotel with a decent cancellation policy (maybe for two nights) and then cancelling one of the nights (or both if you are unlucky with tickets) at no cost once things become clearer.

Meopham, Kent.
Last year we stayed at the Holiday Inn for the Stoke game, as it was literally a walk to the ground. But we REALLY didn't need to be that close, as we spent Saturday morning just killing time, with literally NOTHING to do except wander down to the ground and have a mooch around. Anywhere with an hour of the ground makes perfect sense, so no need to rush to book anything IMHO.

or Manchester, Southport or even Warrington.

If you are feeling flush and taking your better half I can strongly recommend The Vincent in Southport. Stayed there on work trip a couple of years ago and it was really modern with a real buzzing bar and good restaurant.

It won't be a nightmare, would be if you had a big team so hotels booked out for people travelling from abroad.

I booked hotel about 3 nights before for the night of Liverpool V newcastle no problems at all, right bang in the centre, 10 mins walk to Constant Square.
