using animals prooves nothing

Drugs and vaccines currently in use for treating epilepsy, tetanus, polio, smallpox, tuberculosis, whooping cough, measles, heart disease, diabetes, kidney failure, leukemia etc. etc. were all either tested on animals or developed as a direct result of animal testing. Gene mutation and PCR techniques tested on animals have helped isolate the genes or abnormalities responsible for Huntingdon's, Alzheimers, muscular dystrophy, cystic fibrosis and multiple scelorsis, Parkinsons and motor neurone disease.

No. My dad and grandfather were both lawyers, and they did exceptional jobs.

Who else is going to protect you, Looney, if you ever end up needing a lawyer? We wouldn't get very far without arguing the legal matters of the planning process without Lawyers!!?

I am not one. You shouldn't believe everything you read about Lawyers looney. Alot of them do an awful lot of good.

We should get rid of Doctors. They take advantage of the sick and get paid for it! :jester:

I have absolutely nothing against primate testing. In fact I'm all for it, as long as the questions arn't too hard.

I don't know what the fuss is all about.

All that happens is that you receive an invitation to a discount high street retailer to sample their new food lines after opening hours.

There is nothing wrong with a Primark tasting.

Circumstances alter cases. Its a bit like private medicine isn't it?

Many people think that it is a bad thing and shouldn't be allowed. Then they, or a loved one, becomes ill and they find an eight week wait for a diagnostic test or treatment on the NHS or do they pay £230 for the Nuffield Hospital to do it the following day. No choice really is there?

Testing on animals is not pleasant. No one enjoys doing it or would do it unless it was essential. Computer simulations are not going to be any real use for the forseeable future. Anyone who thinks otherwise should go back to the dark ages where they belong.

Many of the scientists from the third reich dissappeared to the US and UK after the war. Testing on humans did advance medical science very quickly and it was argued, e.g. at Yalta, that it would be of greater benefit to humanity to exploit the knowledge gained rather than punish the individuals.
