Will you be there for the Brighton gig?

I’m afraid not. With it being a Friday night, and with a bunch of friends going, I did toy with the idea. It would have been a good opportunity to put faces to NSC names as well. But I shall be at the Berlin gig (and whispers missing the Bournemouth game).

Saw them again last night on the tour proper. They really are such a wonderful and fun live act. Crowd were really up for it and the bigger venue worked better imho. It gave the band more stage space which the keyboard player fully utilized with various slightly camp dance moves. And the bigger venue gave us more room to dance.

Happiness is Hot Chip.

Hot Chip for PM.

Excellent. Hot Chip for the World Cup. Positive has become my favourite song off the album. They're pretty unique at the moment, looking forward to seeing them again.

Positive is a great song, lovely old-school breakdown as well.

The new album fits seamlessly into their set, and was very well received. Some lovely hands-in-the-air moments from the crowd during Melody of Love especially.

Album of the year for me. I loved it when it came out but listening back it has got better and better. Such a good band.

They're a band that I take for granted. Every few years an album comes out and I like it, a lot. Every album is pretty much 'immediate' and after a while you find a few favourites. Bit like The Wedding Present stuff .... you know it's going to be good, and it always is.

'Flutes' is my all time favourite ..... probably.

Cracking band.

I’d go along with this. Although each album in my opinion always has a track or two which are not immediate and which will creep up on you some time later. Seeing and hearing their songs live sometimes alters my reception as well. 7 (?) albums in and still knocking it out the park...they’re definitely special.

after a cursory check there doesn't seem to be a 'the penultimate song on an album' thing. I think it may be. In classic album sequencing I think that's where the act expresses themselves .... same as gigs.

perhaps there should be a thread.
