Need to find a decent hosting package for a website. The site will handle a fair amount of video content. Has anyone on here got any recommendations?

Thanks
Biccy

Hosting video content is one thing, but that will generally lead to a shit load of bandwidth usage. If you're going to get lots of hits to these videos, be sure to get a host that offers unlimited or high bandwidth allowances.

There's a lot of shit "shared hosting" providers out there. That's why I eventually got a dedicated server, despite not having nearly enough traffic to justify it.

- 50GB Web Space, 250GB Traffic

Even so, that would be more than enough for most people.

Don't mean a lot to me, I believe my website now has about 18000 pages, and we have no problems with capacity etc. Also, I understand they are extremely good value too.

Were Sussex Downsmen very anti the New Stadium? Have they got over it now?

If that's directed at my signature / user title, try again!

It was a question directed at your signature, but not in any nasty way, just asking the question. Honestly I hadn't looked at the link, which I now see is the Downsman Hike, and clearly something quite different to the Sussex Downsmen, so no offence intended *remembers to look at link first :dunce:*

However, I would still be interested to know if the Downsmen had got over it.

I would suggest the answer is no:

Meanwhile, as you've mentioned it, the Sussex Downsman Hike went well this year considering the weather last Saturday night. You may be pleased to know that when I took over running it, I changed one of the checkpoint names from "Newmarket" to "Falmer" as it's within spitting distance of the stadium site (if the wind is as strong as it was last weekend). The website isn't hosted by Fastnet (trying to haul the subject back to the thread title) at the moment, but may be soon, as the current free hosting doesn't seem to work for everyone. It's the company I work for that use Fastnet currently.

We find the guys at Fastnet are good (and based in Brighton), but I'm not sure if they offer anything that would suit a lot of video content.
FastNet International : homepage

That brings back memories. Fastnet were my first ISP back in 1996 because NYNEX offered free local calls to other NYNEX customers (which Fastnet were).

They used to have their own Quake server too, which was a bonus.
