Saxony-Anhalt Minister of the Interior is has now confirmed to the media that two people are dead, the suspect is a Saudi Arabian doctor living and working in Bernburg.

Bild are reporting 11 are dead at the scene.

These acts with cars are most often by a lone terrorist though. The ones belonging to big organisations traditionally usually use bombs whether its the IRA, ETA, ISIS or another terror organisation.

I suspect we may have to suck it up. There are other causef o needless death that carry far more numbers, and we barely blink about this due to their nanature.

The nature does matter though mate. People with their families at the happiest time of year. Then they get ripped to shreds by a nutter behind a wheel or waving a machete. It's intolerable.
And it's not just the numbers killer or wounded. It's the constant nagging fear in the minds of everyone at these events. The visual reminders whenever you see an armed police officer or the anti-ram bollards.
It's not something that is part of everyday life. People have been guilted into thinking it is.
I generally respect you mate, but come on. I don't think you even believe what you say deep down.

Btw, 3 terrorist attacks on German Christmas markets have already been prevented this year. All those arrested are either from the MENA region or Turkey.

Well the problem is that this very possibly is a “copycat nutter”, they’ve seen how effective these types of attacks are at killing as many people as possible, with little cost or preparation. These attacks keep happening.

Completely unsurprising. Christmas markets can no longer exist in Europe without massive security and occasional mass killings. It's unsustainable for us to keep living like this and pretending it's normal. Islamism is not a form of the Muslim faith or an expression of Muslim piety; it is, rather, a political ideology that strives to derive legitimacy from Islam.

Islamic terror is a very specific threat, and one which is a growing problem once again across Europe, following 9/11, the London bombings, Charlie Hebdo and the other attacks like this one in Germany and elsewhere. This is far from the first attack of its kind. It’s not the time or place to debate school shootings vs neo nazism et al, respectfully, it comes across as deflection of what is a truly heinous crime that has been committed tonight.
