I've found a Welsh anti-English song. Stereophonics 'As Long As We Beat The English'. I'm not a Stereophonics fan at the best of times so not a great judge of their music but even so, it's not very good. I also don't think it really, really counts because it's not so much anti-English but against England football and rugby teams as huge rivals.

I'll stick with my earlier comment, the best anti-English song is Empire. The lyrics are all water off a duck's back to me because us proud English men and women have tunes like this.

As anti English songs go, there's nothing quite like a bit of fence sitting:

Excellent! Hijacking the thread with music videos! A much better direction to take.

I love a bit of Linton Kwesi Johnson. The bloke should be Poet Laureate - I'm pretty sure he'd turn the job down though. Have you ever heard this mashup of his poem 'Sonny's Lettah'? It's got that fantastic Hot Chocolate riff that Primal Scream nicked for 'Loaded' and some wonderful archive footage of South London too.

Incidentally, anyone thinking that Benjamin Zephaniah is anti-British would be wrong. He's a very proud member of Imagined Village, a collective of musicians whose only qualification is that they are British and whose aim is to celebrate British music. It has Rottingdean's Copper family, Eliza Carthy, Billy Bragg, Paul Weller, Sheema Mukherjee as well.
