How does that have any relevance as to how good a ref he is?

Come on, Mellotron. You know how it works. If we win the ref is good, or at least didn't impact on the result (i.e. "he was bad for both teams"), if we lose the ref is terrible and in most cases we'd have won if not for him. Ergo, if we win half the matches under him, he can't be all bad.

Sorry, can't agree. Hooper has a history of getting big decisions spectacularly wrong. He was 'relegated' from refereeing in the Prem after one game this season and hasn't returned since.
