What's the most deprived part of Brighton? Multiply it by two (because Stains are that much bigger than us) and there you have it. Teenagers doing angry BJs, ferreting around in chutney. Just thank your perspicacity, or your parents, for your being a Seagull rather than a stain.

Anyone else have a run in with any Southampton troglodytes today?

Cycling back I had three shouting ****** out a taxi at me and chanting "Bruno is a chutney" .
"Really?" I asked looking pitifully at them. Caught them up in traffic and they started again. Caught them up a second time opened cab door and offered them out.
Simultaneously glad and disappointed they didn't take the offer. Some verbals ensued. They have narrowly avoided a kicking, I've narrowly avoided a banning order and a taxi driver has narrowly avoided needing a specialised valet service.
Possible lessons learnt:
Me- cycling fast really raises adrenaline.
Taxi driver- picking up ***** may not be worth it.
Them- probably nothing, hopefully may hesitate before repeating such behaviour.

Overheard a couple of them on the P+R. One said he didn't want to mix the Brighton fans - the other pointed out the tricky part of that as the bus was full of them!

Incidentally, I think you misheard 'Bruno is a chutney' - I feel sure it would have been 'Branston is a chutney' ???

Nice turn of phrase.

Well I still haven't read what the term 'chutney' means, but I can tell you right now that I am going to be VERY, VERY offended.

FFS

Edit: A land bound ferret? Amongst other things.

"chutney!" ??? I miss Millwall at home, it was much simpler in them days when you could actually understand the abuse

Yes “AIDS, AIDS , AIDS “ was much easier to understand.

Brother in Law was in the away end, he said a fan in front started the "we can see you holding hands" and everyone nearby told him to shut up. So maybe a bit of credit where it is due.

Ooh, you're 'ard.

(Sorry, hope I've narrowly avoided a kicking) :)

Only interaction I had was with 5/6 of them on the platform at Lewes. seemed a decent bunch. Sad if the op experienced otherwise, I think on the whole, most footy supporters are from all walks of life, and are decent people

No matter how offensive a Southampton fan wants to be towards us, just remember where they are going home to.

It may have been Bruno's in a pickle.

A pal of mine had first hand experience of stains homophobia when he was with his wife and daughters, the police were not that supportive at the time. Maybe homophobic abuse needs to have the same level of response to racial abuse ?

Glad to hear it seems confined to a relatively tiny number of Herberts.
Back to passivity for me.

Last time we played at their place the homophobia was disgraceful

This.

I think it was the game when Lambert scored a hat trick.

Some of the worst I experienced as an away fan. And the abuse my then 13 year old son and I got walking back to the car after the game was awful.

I know all clubs have idiots supporting them but reading the stuff in this thread hasn’t surprised at all
