Homophobes

I was speaking to a couple of homophobic lads today and they told me how they are feeling more and more victimised in todays society. One of them told me they felt so intimidated when they went out and found it difficult to express their homophobicness (word?) without getting picked on. They told me that being homophobic was not a choice they had made, they had been born that way. Is it right that in 2013 it is against the law to be openly homophobic?

Theres no such thing as homophobia, its a political construct not medical.

I have always wondered why gay people have to speak in a certain tone, like Dale Winton or Graham Norton. I have 2 gay friends and they speak with a similar tone.

See my post above. I've never understood what comes first. The gayness - therefore having to learn the accent, or they naturaly speak like that so decide to become gay to go with the voice.

Can anyone explain this? There is a homosexual in my tiny community where I live in NZ and he has that homosexual tonation, his brother who is straight doesn't.

Ok, explain why gay people all have a gay accent then? I have never heard ANYONE who isn't gay speak in that accent apart from David Walliams (cue people proving me wrong). When they decide to be gay do they have to start learning the accent?

Mark Lawrenson?

Correct, but it's a mere spoof designed to exaggerate parallels between the life of homosexuals and homophobes. What you've done is a bit like pointing out that Animal Farm by George Orwell is unrealistic because pigs can't actually talk like humans.

Perhaps it's like acupuncture where a little prick in one part of your body affects somewhere else?

The reason you are a homophobe is not because you don't like the way some homosexuals behave, like you describe - but because you seem to think they are all like that.

Wise words Ataturk. No way did Ataturk come across as gay whilst defeating the allied forces at Galipoli (moaning about the loud noise of battle in one night's diary account apart), nor when kicking the Europeans out of Turkey and I wont mention the Armenian policy now but that has not gone down in history as gay. Well said.
