Those figures show (to me) the very steady levels of home support, averaging 18019 overall (18194 in the league). When teams don't sell out the away end, that's when the figure drops below 20k. Home figures only (* denotes midweek game):

Liverpool 19494*
Newcastle 19199*
Barnsley 19027
Doncaster 18776
Burnley 18658
Ipswich 18511
Palace 18510*
Middlesboro 18481
Pompey 18352
Southampton 18351*
West Ham 18285*
Leeds 18285*
Peterboro 18248
Bristol City 18246
Reading 18237*
Hull 18195*
Birmingham 18133
Blackpool 18054
Cardiff 18028
Watford 17997*
Forest 17983
Leicester 17900
Derby 17744*
Coventry 17317
Millwall 17146*
Wrexham 16544
Sunderland 15887*
Gillingham 14967*

Two questions: what was so special about Barnsley and Burnley that made the home attendance sneak into the top 5?? And does the Burnley away support include the referee?

Why are Newcastle and Hull games classed as mid-week ? Saturday at 5.15 is still a weekend i thought ?

They got 21,002 against Reading in October which in the league is better than any of ours.

And in the League cup they got 22,147 against Cardiff, which is better than us in all competitions...

But we average 20,029 compared to their measly 15,206!

My comment was a joke, I have no interest in what their crowds were, they are nothing to me.

So the lowest league gate for home fans was milllwall. Funny that.

It would be interesting to see the ticket sales for each match as well. I think the number of no-shows is a disgrace. Ok, I know the Club gets the ticket money, but they miss-out on the extras sales, and nobody likes to see empty seats.

Presumably the away end being split making more tickets available for Albion fans (compared to the other games).
Good shout.

So they were - I did it from memory of whether it was dark when we left the ground! Goes to show not all the evening games are lower attendances though.

True, although from memory it was f***ing freezing and pissing down that night.

Ever thought of a job with a tabloid newspaper? You sound a bit pious there mate and as a Brighton fan you will know that Brighton have no business to start pointing fingers especially if I mention Albion games against say, Spurs, Leds, West Ham, palace, pompey, chesterfield, oxford, luton, brentford, qpr, in fact the list is endless. The reason why the Millwall attendance was a tiny tiny bit lower was because it was valentines day, a day when saying, hello love Im off to football is just not an option.

Not being pious. Just making a flippant comment. I see you haven't changed your tune though about Brighton fans.

You may be right about Valentines............ I am guessing we may have had more home support if we played another London club. No one will ever know..

A few corrections for you:

Blackpool: 1,105
Cardiff: 739
Derby: 702
Peterborough: 1,994 (surely we took more than that???)
Pompey: 2,861

Thank you but i have chosen to work using on the figures the club have quoted obviously these may vary depending on where you heard the different attendances from but for the purpose of record keeping best to keep with the official sources (even though they may be slightly incorrect)

Brighton away will always be a good day out but I think we have had more away fans attend games this season because it's a new ground.
