Surely Gus will have to let him go in the summer, just hasnt cut the mustard.

Very harsh. I can see him in League 1 and easily higher in the future. He is a good player.

Not harsh at all he could do similar to Jake Robinson and be a regular goalscorer in Div 2 rather than an unused sub in a Div 1 side. Plenty of players have shown in the past that they could do it in a lower league but not in the division above one prime example was Fred Binney.

I think he is out of contract this year so will try to impress Bury to gain a contract up nearer where he comes from.

Good for him. Shame he never got any joy here. Poyets system just does not suit his style (by his own admission).

May I ask how many times you actually saw him play long enough to be able to have an impact rather than ten
minutes with a team no longer really looking so desperate to score? Can't be many.

Both him and Poyet said that our system and style of play did not suit him perhaps he needs to go to a side that plays a different way. I hope that he does well but it is obvious that he will not flourish with us.

Not quite the same point as he is not good enough for League 1 but there you go....

Every other striker we ever had under Poyet managed to adapt and nick the odd goal. Somehow Holroyd always managed to keep a clean sheet. A half-decent striker, or even one with promise, would have imposed himself on some game, somewhere down the line, and BARGED his way into the reckoning. Holroyd never did. And never will at this level, let alone the next level up.

Oh well, onwards and upwards

Think that sums him up and as to why he was not good enough for us, system or no system.

I think he could make it at this level, but not as a prolific striker. Could certainly do a job with some of the lower League One teams in the future though.

He's very good in League 2, if he had the confidence and the run I think he would do well for us in time. As things are I don't think he'll ever get a look in. Hopefully a couple of League 2 sides will through us a bid for him!
