Is anybody south of the border really interested in the thoughts of the Rangers chairman?

No, nobody cares about either Rangers or Celtic..........they just happen to cause 8 pages threads of people saying how little they care every time they are mentioned.....oh and obviously to make a comment about their predicaments whatever that may be at the time.......because they don't care!

Can't see how the current set up of Scottish footie can remain viable. So its worth keeping an eye purely to make sure they don't take this a step further and try to get parachuted into the English Prem or Championship. I'd like to think there would be a huge campaign to ensure they never get fast tracked at the expense of English clubs.

Kind of flies in the face of so called Scottish independence so maybe it won't happen.

Unless anyone wants to be force fed British/Irish historical battles going back to the 17th century I can see no reason why anyone would want either of the Old Firm in English football.
 Don't want either of those sets of fans involved with English football.

Give over! How many league 1 teams are still in the champions league? How many league 1 sides have been to a major european final in the last 10 years?

slightly daft question, how many League 1 sides have had the opportunity? the comparisons to Championship and League 1 is probably unfair too, but based on people knowing the players and/or seeing the games. its not good football up there, no one can deny.

anyway, its a silly debate as who'd have them? why would any club vote for them to join their league, when, if able to employ their resources of being a big club, Celtic could will take an opportunity at promotion/cup from the incumbant club?

There are two teams in the Scilly Isles who play each other every week. Perhaps Rangers and Celtic could do the same?

Bagpipe football like EPL is Sky driven.

Both Celtic and Rangers would be more than capable of holding their own in the prem.

Of course and them being there would attract better players and the money to pay them.

Silly argument isn't it ?

But, if they played in the Premier League (just like Swansea) they would attract the players and have the finance.

Their theorectical ability to survive in the Football League / Premiership has nothing to do with the respective current quality up there.

May as well right off Brighton ever getting to the Premier League.

Personally I don' t want them here only on the basis that it will lead to pressure to merge the national teams. Nobody wants that, only the numpties who thought that "team gb soccer" was a "cool" idea.

It it wasn't for that. I would have absolutely no problem with it on the basis the English League doesn't exist.

The Welsh clubs played in the English league because there was no Welsh league for them to join when they were formed. By not forcing them to join the Welsh league when it was formed, the FA made a rod for its own back. Pretty tough to get them to leave now, but wouldn't it be nice!!

Actually Cardiff, Swansea, Wrexham and the now defunct Aberdare Athletic and Merthyr Town were members of the Southern League when the FA invited that league to become Division Three South in 1920. They were never parachuted in which some supporters of Rangers and Celtic believe their teams should be.

This is surely the most relevant point. Rangers can wish what they like, there's no way other clubs would vote two teams out of their league to accommodate two Scottish clubs - and that would apply to the PL or the FL. League clubs would also have the potential headache of the cost of a trip to Glasgow - I can't see cash-strapped Plymouth being too keen on the prospect.

Celtic and Rangers would struggle in our League 1. Are Rangers getting worried about the upcoming referendum on independence leaving Scottish clubs in perpetual isolation ?

I am no fan of Celtic, but to suggest a side that has qualified for the last 16 of the champions league beating Barcelona on the way is no better than teams like orient is pathetic in the extreme.

Some of the complete shite that is written on here at times amazes me.
