Never been a big fan of semi hollow but I do have Danelectro Longhorn in the collection. It's a weird but wonderful little thing, maybe seek one out & have a try?
Actually footage of me and Tyrone Biggums.
That's the dream for me. Just too expensive.IF I were a Bassist I wouldn't look past one of these...

Agreed, I've had quite a few ( 8 or 9) over the years and have settled on these two, they're kind of hollow . . . Difficult to describe but wonderful little things.View attachment 138921
FOr a real hollow body, in the traditional sense . . .a good Gibson EB is hard to beat, I've had mine over 25 years. 1964.
Also, super rare, is the Rose Morris/Shaftesbury, circa 1969/70 it is completely hollow and sounds magnificent . . . Not stupid money, but rare. BIll Wyman played them, he was a big hollow body fan . . .Framus mainly. Also Harmony (Ronnie Laine amongst others)
If you have really deep pockets, a Rickenbacker 4005 is dream world. . . Mani used to play them regularly, first stone Roses album has that very distinctive hollow body sound.
This was recorded with the Shaftesbury. https://youtu.be/dB47augo5c4

Very nice
Have you played a 4005, btw? Beautiful things but very disappointing when I tried a couple
No I haven't . . .when I discovered and acquired the SHaftesbury I was so impressed I figured even if I did have £10k to burn it probably wouldn't be any better. 60's Ricks are about as stable as BHA strikers!
I've had my Ricky nearly 30 years now it's an '88 reissue of a '63 . . . Its been in and out of favour in the last 15 years but top dog again . . . Just a great tool. It's packed and I'm off to Devon for my first gig since Dec 2019 tomorrow! It was nigh on brand new when I got it . . . This is it looking after me when I looked half respectable, at THE Concorde in 1995View attachment 138929
It has some genuine wear now.
Sweet. 4001s in fireglow, I'm guessing?
