I can't believe that with this Dutch defence, Veltman can't get in the side [emoji849][emoji848]

Even with his all round play, overlapping runs and one touch passes. I can’t see how he couldn’t improve this Dutch side.

Unlucky Velts. At least we appreciate you here.

The Czechs are an excellent side and proves what a brilliant result our win was

I've been with you throughout, but you're on your own with that one

Veltman was appreciated here as we had no other options at right wing back, and he's an 8/10 player in every game. Rarely puts a foot wrong. But when everyone is fit, he doesn't get in our team and when everyone is fit for Netherlands, he's not getting in theirs either.

He is an ideal squad player though, because not everyone will be fit all of the time. Veltman's are crucial squad players.

All his weight going the other way and he couldn't get his feet sorted quickly enough. It's a very clever finish, but a top goalkeeper would be sharper there and get a foot out at it. He looked a 38 year old goalkeeper there, but more to the point - I'm not sure he was ever good enough to make the save there.

I might be being harsh here
But I’d expect RS to save MR to miss

I said earlier in the week we should look to sign the Czech forward Schick.

Looked clas in every game he has played.

Him and wellbeck will tear the prem apart.

Just shows how good our result was. I did read another post of ‘not played anyone decent yet’ on the match thread  Croatia and Czech are decent teams without doubt. Shame we got a bum draw next round but if we were to get through, the draw has really opened up….!

I am getting just a tad enthusiastic that we may beat Germany, I have no idea why but I FEEL IT

Really? I think they have schooled the Dutch here, against us they didn't get a sniff, pickford had the havannas out

In the second half, against 10 men, yes.

Reckon Leverkusen would take €30M for Schick? Only scored 9 goals in the bundesliga last season but is obviously very talented. Could see him getting well into double figures for us.

Dutch were poor after that red card. Really interesting team to watch tactically across the tournament. They remind me of a top League Two team who have superior attacking players and just play hopeful balls forward and expect it to bounce their way. Only problem is that once you’re 1-0 down with 10 men, that won’t work. Talented players but without a clear philosophy of play.

Awful last 10 minutes from the Dutch, punting balls up when they only had one tall player. Don’t think Weghorst won a single aerial challenge.

The right half of the draw is really tough to call now, each of the sides left will genuinely fancy their chances of reaching the final.

Absolutely, think he’d be great for us.

I suspect more than a few other clubs may have noticed him as well though.

England have exceeded my expectations.

I didn't expect them to get any further than the last 16 and now, we're already in the last 13....bravo England !

Really excited about this next one tonight, on paper should be a cracker. Lukaku hat-trick, 3-2 to the godless Belgians
