Holiday beers

[Colossal Squid]

For me, one of the best things about going on holiday is sampling the local brews. And if there's one brew in particular that stands out as a holiday beer of merit, it's this stuff:

Croatia's finest, Ozujsko.

Dirt cheap, refreshing, available everywhere. Loved it.

So what holiday beers do you have fond memories of?

Lived on this stuff in Gran Canaria. An iced pint glass of this was NECTAR

Ozujsko is TICK. What was the other big one out there? Began with a K. That was OKAY but it's not OZUJSKO now is it.

Anyone who's been to Cuba will be familiar with this state brewed treat:

Shares a name with some poncy Champagne, but is oodles nicer. Cristal

And no, it was no Ozujsko, but did as an alternative now and again. Not that there was ANYWHERE that didn't sell Ozujsko. Even the schools probably served it

Seems to have been diluted over here in recent years, but gotta love this little fella...

Pilsner Urquell was pretty special in Prague., then again, all of them bar the green one were pretty good! When I'm in Turkey/TRNC I do like Efes, and in Cyprus I chose Keo over Carlsberg and Leon, I think it tastes better all round.

Looks good Easy. Was it expensive?

Not at all, as it was the local Canary Island brew rather than an import is was probably the cheapest there (can't remember precisely how much though).

They also did it in cans, and FANTASTICALLY irresponsibly, the hotel had vending machines on each floor stocking the stuff. A kid of any age with the right coinage could sneak up the stairs and get themselves nicely tanked up.

Really enjoyed this stuff when over in Corfu last year near Ag Stephanos. Cheap aswell.
