Palace announce Hodgson will step down at the end of the season.

Least surprising news of the year.

No Roy and an ageing (out of contract) team.

Could work out alright, could be a bit dicey.

Fantastic career, probably over now or he would have stayed in CP.

He can retire a happy and proud man.

Think plenty of CP fans are happy with him going as they want something new... but there's a decent possibility they will miss him. A lot.

Roys contract is one of many that ends this year, could be a very different team next season, still the same dilapidated stadium though.

Perfectly decent man - no matter what you you think of the Pikeys he has done a good job with what he had to deal with.

Happy retirement to him and hope (as ever) the Scum are relegated next season.

I like Roy, and I'm delighted he's leaving Palace. Hopefully Wally leaves as well, along with their out of contract players, and they're left with garbage. But still finish above us next season!

Hopefully relegation is in their not too distant future.

Given how well a change of style went previously, they probably need a manager stuck in defensive mode relying on counter attacks and the odd penalty won by Mr. Tumble.

Alternatively they could appoint Lampard with promises of both a new stand and transfer funds, and instead release a lot of over paid players and fail to buy anyone with any PL experience and talent. Whereby they sink and are relegated by Easter.

Brilliant news.

Now they’ve lost the manager and most of their retiring good players, rebuilding is incredibly risky.

Come on Palace, get Lampard in! He comes free with a couple of Chelsea loans (Cheeks & Brown) and although he’d lose the dressing room quickly, he’d help you get a squad full of young players who’d really find their feet in the Championship from Aug ‘22.

Tuchel is reaping the rewards of Frank’s amazing work at Chelsea, it’s time you bought in to Frank’s famous man management skills too.

Sadly, no one will want Zaha anymore so you have him for keeps, he could still make the difference on his £200kpw salary.

cant dislike him, done well with limited resource. i admired the strikerless formation he deployed which confused oppositions and was reasonably effective (at least more than Benteke...).

It won’t be Lampard, he’ll hold out for a bigger job. Fairly sure they’ll get Dyche
