Hockey Hockey Hockey

is it?

i was always pretty good at hockey at school with absolutely no training. however, having tried ice hockey i would say it certainly takes a lot more skill - being able to skate for one!

Apart from the actual skating, I do think technically, hockey is much harder than ice hockey. Having said that, I only tried ice hokcey a couple of times and I was not a great skater.

Maybe Lord B has a good point and the only real similarity is the name of the sport.

probably correct

ive always though that lacrosse is more like ice hockey, although that may have something to do with the fact in which they are the two sports in which fights seem to break out every 5 minutes with very little penalty for it!

I played hockey against Slough and they were a vicious bunch. Hacking, jabbing and hooking that the 'neutral' umpire did not see. They also did not take well to the fact that we were a student team playing in a regional Saturday league team.

Lacrosse is a great sport. We cobbled together a mens team to play our girls 1st XI. We thrashed them 8-2, despite the fact that they had five Sussex players and an England international!

Thankfully the baby arrived early enough, so my brother and I will be heading up there on Sunday. I saw the Kings play the Ducks in LA about 10 years ago, so will root for them again.

Was gutted the Ducks won the Stanley Cup, such a waste!

played it a few times at school during our recreational pe lessons, and loved it. thinking of taking it up at uni seeing as the cost of america football is so rididulously high

From my experience, the majority of Lax girls at my Uni were absolute stunners. I considered taking up Amercian football, but it was far too expensive, as you say. Plus, they had merged with Oxford University and the standard was pretty good!

Sports teams with a large amount of women is always a good idea, as well over 50% of University sport is the social aspect.

No. They've been shit since 1967!

They're like Man Utd in the 90s: Biggest club in the league, haven't won it in a generation.

I reckon Vegas might happen. I think he wants an MLS team as well, funnily enough.

I heard about the MLS side, they cant be serious about it? Players would die in the heat.

Dont Hockey players play it in the off season to stay fit?
