My favorite EVER player is playing....the MAN MOUNTAIN Chris PRONGER:)

i am supporting the ducks. my boy picked the other team so to make it interesting i picked them. all means nothing to me. i think they have a player called kuntz or something as well. childish humour.

Bloke sitting behind me is going.

I can't get excited by either the Kings or the Ducks personally, even if the Ducks did win the Stanley Cup last time out.

ducks are probably my most HATED franchise

its all about the canucks, SCREWED in the last play-offs. also met sidney crosbys parents, they are rather charming folk and quite down to earth

WORD

Disney WH*RES

you could tell how much it meant to them by the MANIC celebrations that accompanied their success

anahiem is just a hole for sport - it RUINED the la angels, who because of it have to have the ridiculous name "los angeles angels of anahiem", and one of the most prestigious sporting trophies in the world is met with virtually NO enthusiasm in the city

compare that to what went on in ottawa, when the whole place when hockey MAD throughout the play-offs - there was a bigger party there at the fact they were runners up than there was in anahiem that they actually won it

To be fair, hockey is a regional sport in North America.

Basically it's a religion in Canada, and popular in parts of North East USA (Chicago, Detroit, Buffalo, parts of New England, down to the tri state area and - at a push- Washington). Montreal & Toronto always have sellouts even when they somehow miss out on the playoffs (and in hockey you have to be utter WANK to do that).

No one really gives a toss in California as you point out, and the same applies to great swathes of the USA.

No. They've been shit since 1967!

They're like Man Utd in the 90s: Biggest club in the league, haven't won it in a generation.

I reckon Vegas might happen. I think he wants an MLS team as well, funnily enough.

Anyone else get irritated by the names the septics give their sports?

This is NOT "hockey". Anymore than "football" is that game played in shoulder pads. And as for "soccer" ...

I never really understood the attraction of Ice Hockey. The real hockey wins hands down and is a much more entertaining game to watch. Certainly a hell of a lot more skilful that this bang-crash-wallop rubbish.

is it?

i was always pretty good at hockey at school with absolutely no training. however, having tried ice hockey i would say it certainly takes a lot more skill - being able to skate for one!
