The fact is we are all going to have less disposable income. Where will we make savings, holidays, clothes, food or Albion Season Tickets?

Nasty old Tories. How dare they not spend millions the country doesn't have.

Why don't they scrap the House of Lords and the regional assemblies......or do the above provide nice cosy jobs for..........politicians and civil servants

A sign of a succesful economy. More of a sign of people being screwed. I agree a bit of wealth distribution is the answer and thats worldwide not just here

If only we had a single global ruler for the whole world. Where is Nick Griffin when you need him?

The Hitler Legacy...

"The first several years after World War II were years of bitter penury for the Germans. Their land, their homes, and their property lay in ruin. Millions were forced to flee their homes with nothing but the clothes on their backs. Tens of millions did not have enough to eat or to wear. Inflation raged. Parker pens, nylon stockings, and Camel cigarettes represented the accepted, if not the legal, tender of the time. Occupation projections showed that the average German would be able to purchase a plate every five years, a pair of shoes every twelve years, and a suit every fifty years."

Probably one of the most stupid comments ever written on NSC. Are you honestly claiming that 50% of kids in London live in homes without a fridge, or television, or their parents have no access to a car? You wouldn't know poverty if you were in it yourself you idiot! When you don't have enough food, or shelter or heating you are in poverty. FFS!

Alternatively, if you are fishing you have just caught a whopper.

Your right, my mistake. But to quote directly from the London Child Pverty Commision, 41% in 2009. In Inner LOndon its 48%. Againgst a UK average of 30%. So Factually, its not one of the most stupid things ever written on NSC.

With my borough Hackney having 67% of children in Low Income families.

I suggest you open your eyes and see the inner cities and the sink estates, that blight Britain. We are the world 7th richest nation and have te highest level of poverty in Europe, a great achievement.

"London is a world city and the powerhouse behind one of the world’s most successful economies. Yet disadvantage and inequality mean that over 650,000 children in London (41 per cent of all London’s children) live in poverty. The London Child Poverty Commission was established to identify ways to reduce and eventually eliminate child poverty in London."

Poverty is relative though, not having enough food/clothes/heat/running water is poverty , youu can bet your life the kids you mention living in ' poverty ' all have sky dishes on their houses and the latest trainers.

Good ideas. The regional assemblies are only there with the expectancy that they will remain Labour bastions when the inevitable happened as it has now. The House of Lords has not been sorted out properly because it may have stopped Labour filling it with their cronies like Peter Meddlesom.

That has a knock on effect in the retail industries to name but one.

Now let's clarify this properly.

. The London Child Poverty Commission was established to

provide twenty jobs with a base salary of £30k to people who wouldn't last five minutes in the private sector?

The London Poverty Commission! Another quango which exists mostly to promote itself and its' employees interests, ie. overpaid employment. They are never, ever going to say ' most people have homes, fridges, TV's and cars so we might as well call ourselves redundant' now are they?

REAL poverty runs at no more than 15% of the population.

And they all spent their hand-outs on fags, beer, drugs and bingo!

So define poverty then! There is a huge difference between low income families and living in poverty. Strangely all these well-to-do organisations spout about poverty but never mention how they actually measure it.
