In a 3-1 victory against Spurs for Aldershot if anyone cares?

Shame things didn't work out for him. I think he did need a new challenge and, dearly, hope that he makes it. If it wasn't for his dodgy knees, I would imagine that he would have been an ex-Brighton player a long time ago.

He's being playing at RB during some games for Aldershot, hope he gets a deal there.

I think that it is his best position as he is too short to be central defender. Sometimes his lack of speed may get him caught out if the winger is quick.

I didn't think he was ever quick enough for a RB, certainly not at our level. (Though granted he did do alright at Bristol Rovers) Hope he gets a deal there, he deserves one.

He's certainly quicker and much more mobile than Hinshelwood.

People say I talk a load of rubbish, which is fair enough, but come on. Are you being serious?! Whing, mobile?! Much as though I love him, if there is just one thing he's not good at, it's mobility.

:bla:

What would you call diving into last ditch blocks, making countless tackles and roaming up the right wing then?
Hinshelwood wasn't good enough, sorry if you don't like it but its the truth regardless I do wish him all the success in the future.

He's still much more mobile than Hinshelwood, I wasn't suggesting he's some sort of gazelle, more that he's got more pace and mobility than a man who's had countless knee ops.

Hope that Hinsh does get himself sorted with a contract somewhere. Can see him doing well for the shots.
As for playing him at RB I'm not so sure. I seem to recall whenever he played there we got raped.

Hinshelwood was more than good enough before his injuries. Probably our best defender that first season back in the Championship under McGhee.

I'd agree with that... in spite of the fact we were at the bottom end of the championship, there was a time when the Hinshelwood/Virgo pairing looked to be one of the strongest pairings around (well... certainly capable of mid-table Championship anyway!).

I suggested that for us last season but was castigated by many on here.

He played there at Bristol Rovers I seem to remember and was turned very easily.....the problem with dodgy knees really. Okay against a side who don't have a runner out left but still think he is better middle of the park as he has good positional sense (more so than Lynch!).
