real shame could have played at a very high level but for the injuries. Thought he had put the worst behind him when he got the move to Wycombe

Very sad news. Great player for us, bags of potential. All the best for the future Hinsh.

I never really rated him and wondered why on earth we hadn't released him years ago. I was very, very wrong. When he returned to the side at Shrewsbury in the cup, I realised how good he actually is. It was only a small snapshot of his brilliance that we got to see, the screamer against Colchester will always be second to the SUPERB winding up of the Town End fans after we'd gone 2-0 up against Swindon, and was outstanding at the back for us that day. Simply magnificent defender, I was genuinely gutted when we released him. And genuinely gutted now.

All the best, Mr Hinshelwood.

such a shame. was a loyal player, apparently he was offered double the money to play for palace whilst taylor was in charge. also when he had a knee op in america the players gave him about £500 for flights etc but he turned it down as he was determined to get over the injury himself.

Adam Hinshelwood has had to retire from football I am afraid.

Sad times for a 26 year old, who was once selected for England Under 21's.

Apologies if fixtures but couldn't see it anywhere.

How did you find out? Hasnt been reported anywhere else?

He was class, Best CB after Morgan to play for Brighton at Withdean in my view.

Virgo got all the attention, when it was Hinsh that had the skill.

He was made Wycombe skipper last year too, wasn't he?

Bad times. Good luck to the guy, in the future.

Nappy Thrower and Seagullsdaz, what a pair of f***ing stupid narrow minded little pricks you are.

as people have said on the thread already, quite clearly one of the best prospects the club has seen in the last 20 years. i wish him the best of luck.

This!

Quite possibly two of the unfunniest attempts of humour ever seen on NSC.

Good luck for the future Hinsh

Good to see that he has already got some coaching badges under his belt.

Great professional and a quality bloke. All the best Adam.

Strewth, that's a real shame. I guess it just goes to show how our lives can be turned upside-down when things seem to be going really well. I wish Hinsh all the best for the future & hope he finds something to do in life that goes some way in compensating for his somewhat unfulfilled footballing potential.

This is the period from which I will remember his playing days, rather than his later struggles for fitness:
