Hinsh, is he that good?

Let's not forget he is still learning his trade, and he is a youngster in a young and very inexperienced team. I do agree that he made mistakes which directly contributed to these two goals, but he will learn from them.
Yep, he does make mistakes, the Scunny goal was also his too, but I've been amazed how well he's played after his long lay-off. He is going to be some player with another couple of seasons behind him.

I cannot see how anybody can say that it was Hinsh's fault yesterday unless they know who called for it. From the Tv I would have thought that Hinsh was in the best position to attack the ball and head it away but was baulked by Lynch. I don't know if Hinsh called for it, but if he didnt then Yes he is at fault but who knows definitely.
Hinsh called it, seemed to call when Lynch was already commited.

Hinsh is a good player though, as with all our youngsters he is not perfect, or he'd be somwhere else, I think his decision making is occasionally iffy and he is sometimes a bit casual.

Exactly.
Great players don't get born as experienced and seasoned performers. He's young, and about as good as one can hope for his age.

Lawrenson was the best defender I've ever seen. Anywhere. I bet he made a mistake or two before he was a football magician.

I was too far to see who was at fault for the goal but what i did see was a couple of last gasp tackles from him and i see him being a unsung hero i just hope we can hold on to him in the transfer window because i believe this lad could be very good and rate him potential one of the best central defenders we have had in many years.

Well done hinsh for coming back and looking so strong after such a bad injury.

Hinsh reminds me of John Terry a bit in that his reading of the game is so good he often sees other peoples mistakes before they make them and gets caught out trying to cover.

Not that outrageous a thread actually.

Hinsh is a very average defender; feel a bit sorry for him, as perceptions of him seem unusually high.

He actually doesn't win enough headers (watch when he goes for a header doesn’t ever leave the ground) and distribution is poor.

The goal was his fault, either give Lynch a call and clear it or stand off for the second ball once Lynch had challenged (or not). He actually did exactly the same thing near the end of the first half when he was right up behind El-Abd (ooh-err) and appeared not to give him a shout, same cock up happened just didn't cost us.

All that said, a young defender has massive room for improvement and will need to.

Lynch is a concern, appears to have the ability not sure of his desire to use it, does tend to ball watch.

As a central defender you have got to be sure to win it if your going to go and stand next to your left back.

I have no idea about the goal as I was down the other end, but in the 2nd half Hinsh made two quality last ditch tackles to deny certain goals. strikers were inside or on the edge of the 6 yard box and the timing was spot on. The guy is quality

So NSC this thread - blame culture rules

I have to say i thought Taylor had the beating of Hinsh throughout the first half Saturday. He looked a lot stronger and more assured and I was disappointed that Tank kept passing Taylor onto Hinsh.

However, after the break, Tank took on the responsibilty for challenging with Taylor and given Tank's experience it was a far more even match.

I think Hinsh still isn't back to his best, but he is getting there.
