I don't get why the word homophobia is used to describe people who hate gays. A phobia is a fear. Agoraphobics don't hate the outside, they fear it. Claustrophobics don't hate, they fear confined spaces.

It happened before we had a chance to stop it. It's a crap word, but used for good reason to help fight bigots, and even the pedants among us thought we'd let it go when the lefties were marching in the name of freedom.

If you break down the people & reasons why people 'hate' gays, I'm sure you'd usually find the majority are scared of anything different to what they feel comfortable with.

Feel free to introduce a new word to the world, no one's stopping you.

Because a phobia is an irrational fear...in the case of gayers they can be f***ing scary! Have you seen some of the lumps queuing outside revenge?

Homophobics fear Gays. They just mask it by kicking them in the face

For me homophobic people are scared of their own sexuality which is the reason they are so anti gay.
