i think he wanted to get a so called 'big man upfront' so every time we punt it out we would have someone up there to hold it and lay it off to the quick vassel. i didnt work because of one fatel flaw....heskey is crap. i just wish defoe had come instead of him.fatboy said:If he had to replace Rooney, why didn't he bring on Butt? Or a defender?

I'm always quick to defend Heskey but let's get one thing straight - he was GASH last night. He didn't do his job.fatbadger said:I disagree. I thought Heskey played well (and linked well with Vassell). The constant pressure for (almost) the entire second half meant that a free-kick on the edge of the box was almost inevitable; the midfield and the attack were constantly being sucked backwards, so it was inevitable that, when the free-kick came, it was going to be given away by an attacker or attacking midfielder. In fact, I predicted it about 20mins before it happened. Heskey was unlucky that it was him, that's all.
Is anyone calling for Gerrard to be sent home because of his mistake, which led to the penalty? Er, no. They're not.
Get off the man's back.
