I am told Tony Bloom, Russel Slade and Charlie Oatway were in The Sportsman earlier this evening and the atmosphere appearred very friendly with no apparent tension

Really? May be Tony had not dropped the bomb shell? Also I hope they were not laughing and joking cause that would piss me off even more. Why would Charlie be there?

Not another one. 13 posts under this name. Would be better if username was "Wind Up Merchant"
13 posts is neither here or there - having supported the team (travelled to 82 league grounds following the team) over 25 years and having a very good mate whom I've known since school who socialises with 4/5/6 current BHA employees gives me (and him) a decent insight.

Well I saw Slade and Oatway play at Seaford on Sunday and I think there WAS tension. Slade played at left-back and the rest of the team were full of team-shouts "here Charlie, I'm free Chippy," etc. but as soon as Slade got the ball the players - not the crowd - went very quiet. Not even "Here Russ" or "here boss"...

Slade lasted for 50 minutes, then very red in the face, he came off.

Oh and Albion lost 4-3 to a sharp Seaford side, in front of a good crowd, must have been 300+. Oatway still looks VERY competitive...wouldn't fancy having to mark him.

Russell has the next game to draw or win to keep his job for longer:clap: but if we lose Russ has agreed with Mr Bloom he will resign after the game. This is the truth, lets hope we win:albion1: To some on this board, please give the boys 100% support Saturday, and to the fans not at the game whats the point of mindless abuse if your not at the game.

This sounds daft, but having watched RS in interviews I think it could be even true, he might just want to walk away; other managers have done it before.
I think the bloke is a genuine nice guy but nice guys don't necessarily make effective football managers. Example 1 :Alex Ferguson.

If we draw he should go to be honest. I am not going to post what I am think as I might start to get a reputation like Ernest on something!

I suspect the decision has already been made and it is just a matter of timing now. Bloom is no idiot and unlike Knight, when the axe falls he will have already made agreement with whoever is coming in. No point sacking a manager and coaching staff until you have someone else lined up in my view.

Hope your right.

What difference does getting a draw make...

I suspect TB is waiting for the right time then Bingo....

Look at Middlesboro, sacked Soutgate after a WIN and 1 point off top....When your days are up they are up...
