RANA's coming home :clap2:

Yasir is away for a few weeks, so like the Albion, in a bid to avoid coming last in a rubbish division, the Rana banana is joining us for the start of the County Championship season

(Well possibly, as it is The Argus)

What does the article say? Not the Argus website yet. Does it sound likely?

Rana Naved-ul-Hasan renews contract with Tasmania | Pakistan Cricket News | Cricinfo.com

Naved-ul-Hasan, the Pakistan fast bowler, has renewed his contract with Tasmania, whom he represented in the Twenty20 Big Bash during the Australian domestic season. Naved was banned for one year by the PCB due to disciplinary reasons, but was eligible to play domestic cricket and in foreign leagues. He is also negotiating a contract with Sussex to participate in the English domestic season later in the year.

"I have this new contract with Tasmania and I am also negotiating another contract with Sussex to play for them this summer," Naved said. "When I am not banned from playing in foreign leagues obviously I am looking for opportunities to play regularly and this contract by Tasmania is a good development for me.

"I am hopeful of the Sussex contract as it will mean I can continue my cricket in England in the coming summer."

Naved was among seven Pakistan players penalised by the PCB in the aftermath of a disastrous tour of Australia. Younis Khan and Mohammad Yousuf were banned indefinitely, Shoaib Malik was banned for one year along with Naved while the Akmals - Kamran and Umar - and Shahid Afridi were fined and placed on probation.

Yorkshire treated him like shit.

He bowled excellently for us in his first visit and if he approaches anywhere near that form this time he'll take a LOT of wickets in Div 2. We struggled to finish teams off last season and Rana's ability to find the blockhole should see us run through the tail ends of a few sides. He's probably a better option than Arafat anyway.

Is he bringing his dodgy hairpiece with him?

Great news, as someone else said Yorkies treated him like shit, now he's back to Robbos bosom, the old Rana will be back.
He loves Hove and the Sussex club ethic and the fans.

We got relegated last year because we couldnt finish teams off. Lewry was on his last legs & hardly played. Yasir is a great one day player but struggles for consistancy in the CC.

A fit & firing Rana along side a fired up Monty & hopefully Anyon could be terrific for us

Great news

What was the indisipline that got him a year ban ad how much is 2 miliion rupees in £?

The board banned Rana for 12 months besides imposing a fine of two million rupees in their crackdown on alleged indiscipline in the team. The ban only barred Naved from playing for the national team while allowing him to play in the domestic circuit and foreign leagues.

It's a high profile signing which shows plenty of intent on behalf of the board, I actually see Naved as being more of a one day player.

Div 2 won't be a walk in the park, there will be 3 or 4 sides fighting it out for promotion.Yes, there will be a few poor teams.

It will be interesting to see what the board really want from 2010, one day success brings in plenty of cash ( hence the profit reported in 2009) but it's hard to have success in both formats of the game.
