We had points deducted that season, gave them a 12 point head start, scored an own goal for them in the first half, even let their centre forward through for a one on one in injury time...............and they still f***ed IT UP.

The only team that sent Hereford down that season was Hereford. I know it can't be fun marrying your sister, but I don't feel a huge amount of sympathy for those who are still bitter and twisted.

It would like me hating Norman Whiteside for crippling Chris Ramsey when we were leading in the 83 cup final, or loathing Neil Warnock for 1991.............

I commiserated with a couple of Hereford fans after the game.

When we went back a year later for the cup tie there was a hostile atmosphere. Thought their hatred of us made them look small. Shrewsbury and Wrexham seem friendlier clubs.

One of many recollections I have of that day in 1997 is walking back towards Hereford station in conversation with a couple of very disappointed Hereford fans who simply wished us well for the future.

Not an ounce of "hate" in them. And I guess that goes for most Hereford fans.
