Listened on the radio,my excuse for not going - I was in hospital as I was for a lot of 1997,the Hereford result definitely raised my spirits for what had been a difficult time.

I don't think some of you were there because of all the negative stuff that is said on here. If you were there, well just looking at the Amex would make you smile. Chance of playoffs to the Premiership and some of you are still negative about the way we play and Gus....a little Brighton and Hove Albion history lesson from the last 16 years would be good. Go on shoot me down in flames about how long or how many posts I've made on here, then look up Half Time at Hereford in the Gold posts.

Jesus, how many more numpties want to spend their whole life looking back over their shoulder where we have been rather than grasp the opportunities that are presenting themselves today. For what it's worth, yes I was at Hereford. I was also at St James when we won 3-1 and at the Goldstone when Arsenal thrashed us 4-0 and at the first away game at Villa Park when Maybank scored our first ever top flight goal.So what, they are memories. If football was just about memories then what would be the point of looking forward to going to the next game?

Why is it only the newbies on here, that ever bring up The Big H?

or the same dullards who have just re-registered. Add a cow smiley and re-read.
BTW I was there.

Blimey, Cyril. Welcome back to NSC.

How many of us can claim to have started a thread that got published in a book? You're an NSC LEGEND!

Was there and very happy when the game finished.

Worst view I've ever had at a game from the pit, but couldn't have cared less when we scored.

Nope, I spent the afternoon aimlessly driving around in my car, turning the radio on and off randomly, convinced we were finished.

And then it happened, Robbie scored and after what felt like 2 hours the final whistle went. I pulled the car over somewhere between Haywards Heath and Hassocks and wept.

Went up there by train with my son. The whole day seemed to pass by in a bit of a blur, it was that emotional.
Went from total despair to total delight and we both blubbed at the final whistle.
I know some people on here think we should get over it, but it was such an important event in our club's history and sort of a turning point, that we shouldn't ever forget that day.
I like to look upon it as a badge of honour to have been there and witnessed the most important game in our history (IMO).

It is obviously a very good measure for how far we have come. But there have been some great times since (even at Withdean) I just think that every time somebody moans, its a bit over the top to keep on saying "don't you remember Hereford" Some of our supporters were not even born at the time, so no they wouldn't remember. Yes it was the biggest game in our history, yes it meant the world to all of us. But I have read on here Scousers should stop bleating about Hillsborough after all this time. So we managed to stay in the league and harp on and on about it, and they lost 96 supporters and should shut up? Come on people a little perspective here please. Oh and yes, I was there.

I was there

Memories...feeling physically sick at half time because of the nerves, the MASSIVE bundle when we scored and avoiding, just, the mother of all punch ups in the cattle market / car park just after the final whistle - as Das mentioned earlier there were 'quite a few' BHA lads 'up for it' that particular day

The minubus journey home was quality!!!!

Swindon, but used to be Manila
I was there with my 2 kids and my Dad who never got to see the AMEX...

Cant remember much apart from the goals (both) and the bigg bull they paraded around the ground, also the hundred or so riot cops on the pitch at the halfway line at the end.

Little did I know but one of my future mates from work was in the Hereford end ......

I was there, had a ST for our time at Gillingham - so what? We're not the only club with a bit of history and we need to look forward as well as back.

I know Gus doesn't get everything right and I'll continue to disagree with some on here who expect everything to be perfect but I'll do that because we should continue to cut slack to an exciting young manager who is still learning his trade not because I'm old enough to remember the bad old days.

We were in with the Hereford fans, couldnt get an away ticket. Had to keep quiet for 90mins. Difficult.

But anyway like others have said its in the past now.
