One of the longest serving managers in the FL. All comment by Bulls fans at the bottom all seem to agree that it is a bad idea.
In view of our relegation from League One I have taken the decision to step down from the post of team manager at the end of the season...
Whatever mitigating circumstances there may have been which led to the disappointing season it is the Manager who must ultimately take responsibility for results. That I have done.
I will continue in the role of Director of Football, which will be much more of an administrative position and as Chairman.
I sincerely hope that this will not be my last managerial post but at present I am totally committed to providing the new team manager with the necessary resources for success and to ensuring that all the hard work that has gone into the Club over recent seasons will continue, providing the Club with a prosperous long term future.
The position of team manager will be offered to present First Team Coach John Trewick. He is a very experienced and respected football man who is capable of having an impact on the players and giving the Club the impetus to put us into contention for a quick return to League One.
I would like to reiterate my apologies to all our supporters for our poor League position. I'm sure that like me they looked forward to a season in League One following last season's promotion, only to be disappointed.
I would also like to thank them for their support for me over the last twelve years and hope that support will continue for the Club, the new manager and the players.
