The greatest albion game EVER

FACT

And if it had not been for our chums at Orient beating Hereford the previous week we would be down and out.

When they broke through in injury time and Foster had the whole goal to shoot at from the penalty spot and no defenders in sight time stood still. For some reason he shot straight at Rust/Ormerod ( I can't remember who was in goal that day), but the whole Albion support was looking through their fingers at that moment, we were so so close to extinction in that brief moment of time. .

Saw that very differently, thought it was a quality save by Ormerod who had to move quickly and high to his left and kept us in the league

I could not get a ticket so I managed to get up there as a steward. Sat by the pitch all game, was allowed to stroll around the pitch when we survived and got £10 and a couple of drinks in the club bar for working :lolol: :lolol: :lolol:
Did take a Brighton fan onto the pitch to take some pictures. Was not you was it CS?

Yes it was!!

As if I would do something like that to rub it in the face of the Hereford stewards in the briefing:lolol: :lolol: :lolol: What was even better was that they stuck me at the back so I could nt see so 5 minutes before kick off I left the Hereford steward and went and sat by the pitch. What a great day and result.:clap2: :clap2: :clap2: :clap2:

Never been to a more atmospheric game, brings chills down the back of my neck thinking about it.

Wasn't the greatest game, but it was probably the greatest result the Albion had ever had on the pitch.

Pat Murphy on Radio 5 described it as 22 blind men shaking with fear chasing a ball for 90 minutes.

People talk about a rollercoaster of emotion, Hereford was a journey to space and back.

That explains why I couldn't breathe properly for 2 and a half hours.

That was one special day. Very drunk, very emotional, very happy. What a CRAP game though!

Perhaps we should do a where are they now on the heroes of Hereford?

Sat in the home fans seats (2/3 of which were Brighton), in line with the home end penalty spot, it was a great save. Mind you I was such a gibbering wreckI thought he would score and so i nearly puked.

I have too say that I hated nearly every minute of the game, obviously enjoyed the goal but then had to sit through 30 minutes of purgatory, this was not helped by sobering up half way through. The hangover was horrific but not nearly as bad as the game.

It's one thing to sit through a game where relegation is the worse case scenario, another where a bad result means extingtion.

Ended up on my own for this game, bought tickets well in advance, but ended up with a spare one. Sold on at face value and then sat at the back of the stand for 2 hours, feeling like I was in a heavyweight dual with Mike Tyson. 3 minutes of tranquilty after we equalised, other than tha gut wrenching emotions never to be topped.

It WOULD kill me to go through that again, I always wonder if anybody did have a heart attack type thing that day....

I saw a woman being wheeled out by ambulance people-she didn't look too clever. I'm amazed that it was only one (that I saw anyway).

Probably a few more from the home end though...

I have the game on video I still sit there biting my nails down when I watch it, and that save by Omerod was vital we owe our league status to him not just RR.
