Versailles receives vastly more visitors than Buckingham Palace, which is often left out of most visited lists in London.

I think St. Pauls (for instance) is far more popular.

The reality is that doing with away with the monarchy would increase tourism to the palaces, because there would be far more to access.

That isn't going to happen anytime soon (even under a Labour Government), but it won't stop people like the poster above still believing the myth that having a Royal Family is somehow beneficial to the economy in London.

It’s Christmas so will apologise for the bone head remark , and it wasn’t called for so happy xmas.

I say our royal family is unique as it’s been the main symbol of our country for generations.

You ask any tourist what they love to visit and it’s Buckingham palace and hope to get a glimpse of the Queen.

Utter bollocks.

Most visited country in the world : France.
