chez said:It's obvious what was meant. Some very vocal fans didnt want him in the team coz they love Kipper. Wendy didnt want to upset these fans so dropped him. Quite simple really and very sad at the same time. A very weak manager IMO.
Commander said:Utter bollocks. The situation is very simple: Hendo is a slightly better keeper than Kuipers, with more potential as he is younger. He wanted first team football regardless of form. He went through a dodgy spell of form so Wilkins dropped him (like all managers do when players are not performing). Instead of fighting for the shirt back he threw his toys out the pram and asked to leave. So we sold him.
End of.
ROSM said:Not doubting you as you have been right before but...........
.............if he knew that was the case, why leave and have his agent briefing naylor about his displeasure??
nobody's dupe said:What he is referring to is the fact that he was dropped in order to put Kuipers in the 'shop window'. The idea was to sell Michel and to bring Blaney in to compete with Henderson. (Before you ask, "Source?" - HP please.)
What has happened is that Brighton's number one goalkeeper has been sold, and it is now highly unlikely that we will get any money for the Dutchman before he becomes a free agent when his contract ends. Once again Kuipers laughs all the way to the bank.

Horton's halftime iceberg said:Was asked to play in the reserves and scared that Hassocks might have shown him up tonight.
bhafan said:Never saw the stats to etablish who was best between Hendo and FDM but I reckon Michel keeps more clean sheets. What we gained in Hendos distribution and kicking ability we lost in his inability to deal effectively with set plays and command the defense.
Hope Michel stays fit for the rest of the season!

First Team Place
Proper Ground
Championship Team
Possible Promotion to the Premiership
Enhanced International Career Opportunities
Bigger Crowds
But yep other than that, it doesn't make any sense does it....
ali jenkins said:More money- Fair enough
Proper Ground- as if hes going to play more than 3 games there
Championship Team- Preston Reserves are NOT a championship team
Possible Promotion- If he was villa's 3rd choice, i doubt he'll play more than a 'bit part' in the prem, even with preston
International Career- not sure how a championship reserves is better than short time on the bench at Brighton
Bigger Crowds- Again, not in the reserves!
To be honest, althought im a Kuipers fan i do think Hendo is a good keeper and would have been 1st choice in 2/3 years time, no questions asked but at the moment he is no better than Kuipers and was dropped because he was NOT in good form and to be honest he should have expected it.
Is this another Leon Knight style strop because hes not an 'automatic' pick for the 1st team?

At some point in your career, especially when your starting out, you WILL be dropped.
What will determine your career is how you bounce back from it.
If he really was a 'good professional' then he would get his head down and train harder and play a blinder week-in-week-out for the ressers and show that he can take it mentally.
NOT hand in a transfer request (twice) when he is dropped for a game or two!
With Shey Given injured and Paddy Kenny quitting international football, will Hendo throw a strop if this other keeper gets picked ahead of him next week?
