What happened to Niemi?

I heard someone on Soccer Saturday saying that he'd suffered a nasty injury of some kind.

Some how dived over a player and landed smack on his head which took the full force. Ouch.

 

[Trigger]

Niemi was stretchered off shortly afterwards after a horrendous incident in which he landed on his head after racing out of his area to nod the ball clear.

Play was held up for around eight minutes while Niemi received treatement.

I'm perfectly chilled thanks, just intrigued as to how anyone could find a person suffering as serious an injury as it sounds like Niemi may have even midly amusing.

As I said in my previous post, I wasn't insulted, just intrigued as to the reasoning behind it.

to be fair fruity, the way it's written by the BBC (where I nabbed the above from) is completely clownish, makes no mention of falling over another player, just reads like he came out, missed the ball, done a somersault and bobs your uncle.

I see your point mate, but I still can't grasp why that makes it funny, given the consequences of what happened.
