At the beginning of the season McGee was planning for one of them to be the first team keeper while Kuipers was injured!

I am pretty sure McGhee said the problem wasn't with Henderson but with his agent.

If so, then Henderson needs to change his agent as he isn't acting in his best interests.
Chaigneau will be gone at the end of the season and I'm not sure Martin or Sullivan will be adequate cover for Michel.

If they do have Henderson and Kuipers on the book, bearing in mind Martin is already professional contract it does mean Sullivan will probably not be retained, which as he already has representative honours would be a shame.

I suspect at the beginning of next season it with be Henderson or Kuipers with Martin and Sullivan as understudies. One will probably play in the reserves and warm the bench with the other being loaned out.

Would be a real bugger if the deal fell through. Henderson's an excellent keeper with real potential, and with the two question marks of fitness and ability hanging over Kuipers, I think we need him.

And desperately trying to get a keeper in.
We kept bidding for Blayney and Redknapp changed the price. That's why we got Henderson in on loan and then Blayney for another spell.

fitness yes
ability you have to be joking right Kuipers is a fantastic keeper, who pulls off great save after great save. IMO better than Henderson so not realy bothered we arn't wasting cash on him.

We might be better off letting FDM know that we don't want him to leave, rather than trying to convince Henderson to come here.

Dont waste your time, Rep Toad and a couple of cronies were the Ben Roberts fan club and Kuipers will always be a target of theirs despite performing miracle saves and winning us many games.

why do we need both?

We have FDM and Chaggers, if either of them get injured or worse we get someone in on loan....as we did with Blaney, Henderson, Yelldell, Flintney, Roberts Tony Meola Rose Royce, etc etc......good goalies are one a penny and teams send their keepers on loan to get them match fit, as we did with FDM.
Goalkeepers are not IMHO a priority....A decent midfielder to fill charlies boots are!!!

keepers do seem to be easy to get on loan (decent standard ones aswell). personally i would prefer what little money we may have to be spent on the outfield playing staff. if we have good enough players elsewhere then the keeper should not be as busy anyway. although quality keepers do win points. but kuipers is quality imo.

Richard Martin is a second year scholar.

And as much as keepers are easy to get on loan, we have had some pretty shocking loan keepers!

I wouldn't have called Yelldell or Shabaan good keepers.
We lost 6 games on the trot with those two and didn't start getting points again until Blayney came in.

We can continue until May with Flo but then have to hunt for a keeper in the summer.

That is fine then, go for the rest of the season with FDM as first choice and Flo as back up, if he doesn't stay then we can look for another keeper. I would prefer us to spend whatever money that is available, either as transfer fees or wages, on someone to gee the midfield up a little, and maybe a striker if we can get one who is better than what we have already (ie: tried and tested).

According to today's Argus it looks like we could fail to land Henderson and lose Martin -

Meanwhile, Albion goalkeeping prospect Richard Martin is due to train with Everton this week. The Argus first revealed Everton's interest in the 18-year-old last month.

We dont need Henderson. Kuipers and Chatuex provide adequat goalkeeping cover for our aspirations. Spend the cash on more pressing issues.

I don't like this 'need' factor at the moment around Henderson. Any IDIOT can see that he's an excellent keeper and he's just 22 years old. If we can we shoud be breaking the bank for players like this. I'd rather we bought him in and persisted with the strikers we have on the books now if we can't get anyone half decent that will actually make a difference to our season.

Kuipers' time at this club is running out now, I can't see him signing and now deal at any point. Get Hendo in, he could be our keeper for YEARS to come.
