Dear NSC

A colleague, and close friend of mine who has recently had a baby, has also had to contend with the news her partner (Charley) has been diagnosed with a very rare and aggressive form of cancer.

After 6 bouts of chemotherapy Charley's internal organs are in a precarious state, and the only course of action now available is a very expensive form of medication which (due to the rare nature of the disease) the NHS is unable/unwilling to pay for.

As friends we wish to support Charley and have a number of options available to us

1) Fundraising - using the GoFundMe link - https://www.gofundme.com/2csb3vg
2) Publicise the cure4charley.com website - https://cure4charley.com/
3) Follow and re-tweet @Cure4Charley twitter page - https://twitter.com/Cure4Charley?lang=en-gb
4) Please sign up to the Eventbrite and join us at the bike ride on the 25th September - https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/cycle-for-charley-c4c-tickets-26550717912?ref=estw
5) Help us gather raffle prizes for the Cycle4Charley event. Raffle prizes to be ready by 25th September

If you can help in ANY capacity, please do so.
A RETWEET COULD MAKE ALL THE DIFFERENCE

Should the worse happen before treatment is finalised, all funds raised/remaining will go directly to a charity specialising in rare cancer treatments.

Thank you very much for reading this thread.

What a terrible situation for all concerned. Donation made. Good luck, Charley. Thoughts also with her friends & family.

Awful .... good luck Charley.

Might I suggest contacting Brighton Lions Club - they have been known to help out in these situations with some funding - http://www.brightonlions.org.uk/ - all the contact details are on the website.

I'll do the retweeting, publicising etc. now

Any chance you can bump this thread a week on Friday? For many of us that will be pay day and as such I'll be able to contribute financially as well.

All the very best of luck to Charley

Thanks again to everybody that is retweeting and donating.

Last night, the funds raised had exceeded £15,000.
Still quite a way to go, but a significant and brilliant start.

Cheers all
